It always amazes me what is still flowering after the first frost. These maybe standard plants but they continue to give lovely colour in autumn

Mind you this is still going

And I love the colour of these pansies only planted last week, after being grown on from seedlings bought in August

@WonkyWomble I can’t get over how beautiful your garden is ... if I told people about  the overgrown tip it was before you took it over they wouldn’t believe it  ... it looks like a beautiful country idyll and it’s in the busiest part of a busy town. Very proud of you x

    Thanks Dove  :) I had a good teacher!  ;)
It's a bit of a case of country girl stuck in the city so I'm turning my bit into what I'm comfortable in! The local wildlife doesn't seem to mind too much either!

That all looks pretty good to me @KeenOnGreen 😊

  • @WonkyWomble what type of miscanthus s is that in your photos? You've got exactly the effect I wanted, but I just can't seem to make it happen. It looks stunning, very jealous!

@strelitzia32 the grass in that picture is Miscanthus sinensis 'Gracillimus'

There is also panicum in there which is the finer seed head.
I'm a bit of a fan of grasses. There are a few different types dotted through the boarders and anywhere else i can cram them in!
Thank you  :) I interplanted with verbena bonariensis but doesn't really show in the pictures.  I thought monty should have used these in his paradise garden as the grass he used flopped over.   ;)
@KeenOnGreen, I can understand why you miss the colours of your past years boarders but Gardens change with our needs for them and what you have done this year looks stunning and stylish!
