I have devised a personal strategy for dealing with Johnson.
I will not listen  to a word he says but only read about what has actually happened. So he can make all the pie crust promises he likes.
On a other important political note:  how can a man with the physique of a twiglet manage to buy a suit that's too tight for him?

Isn't that the only sensible way to judge any politician or political party?

Do you know nothing?  That's the current fashion.  Everything is slim fit.  Just a single button on a jacket, and you have obviously bought too large a size if you can actually breathe with said button done up.

That's nothing to do with B****t tho is it?  Just a stupid decision about future communications networks and insecurity for all connected.

I didn't say it had anything to do with Brexit, but it's all part of relations with other countries

Yes, but this security problem will lead to others, I'm sure.  Shooting themselves in the feet really.

I wouldn't trust the Chinese government to run me a cold bath never mind let them loose with nuclear power stations and 5G

Had one of my neighbour's roof tiles come through the conservatory roof earlier.  Destroyed a 8' by 3' roof panel.  Call my insurers only to be informed that the office is closed until Monday.  I accept they won't necessarily man the place 24x7, but with the current storms extra cover would seem to be sensible to me.  Fortunately we have a builder in the family who has managed to jam plywood in place to greatly reduce the ingress of water.  Without that I suspect the entire floor etc would have had to be replaced as we have electric underfloor heating.

My neighbour didn't fix the loose roof tile that's above his conservatory after the last storm. I hope this wind doesn't drop it through the roof :/ It didn't seem so bad earlier but really picked up for a while. I had to text another neighbour to tell him his bins were heading off up the road.

I went to the local Coop earlier and they still had masses of Valentine's flowers left over. they were reduced prices but still £10-20 per bunch. They did come with a rather fetching cuddly monkey though. Nothing says "I love you" like a cuddly monkey with a stick shoved up its unmentionables.

  • Sorry to hear you have damage @KT53 ... a builder in the family can have his uses 😉 I hope the ‘repair’ holds. 🤞

Just been out to check the garden is still there and there's streams of runoff flowing through the garden all over the place. Luckily it's all finding it's way into the land drains and away. The channel I dug around the greenhouse seems to be working well too. The rain isn't easing up though.
