Hi T'Bird, your longer post wasn't there when I posted mine. I've been watching all those horrific news items about the fires in Australia. My brother lives in Western Australia so is away from it all. I used to say that I would be devastated if my house got flooded, as people in the UK experienced but to lose everything to those fires must be heartbreaking. I heard one young Mum being interviewed and she was saying that her wedding photographs and the photos of her babies were all gone when their house was burned to the ground. I thought she was extremely brave telling the reporter that, I would have been in pieces. Very kind of J to look after those pets - all very precious to their owners.

Runny sorry to hear oh is in hospital. I hope very much that he’s beeing looked after and will improve soon. It’s a shame about your glasses I hope you have a spare pair and will be able to get some new ones. It’s a bother isn’t it. I hope you are well yourself and wish for a speedy recovery of your oh. He’ll be pleased when he can come home and have familiar things around him. Topbird sad news about Australia and the devastation but good to hear someone is looking after the pets. Let’s hope they have a continuous downpour and get help to start again. Joyce sometimes it can be difficult to breathe when you are out in the wind. I put a big scarf on. I hope you are okay. LB are you in the garden today or is it not the weather for it. Anyway I hope you’ve had a good day. I’ve been brushing all the cats today but Alfie has been hissing. He’s very sensitive. I have to do it bit by bit. Ante and Chive hope your day went well.
Runners, I hope your OH will soon be on the mend and back home. You didn't the expense of new glasses and a parking ticket.
Like you Pansy, I don't understand the attitude of the Australian PM and government when one hears and sees what is happening as a result of the fires. It must be devastating for people who have lost everything.
The rain stopped so I braved the winds and visited friend round the corner.
Back from the doctor - I managed to walk there! Bestie came with to stop me collapsing, I needed a chair in the pharmacy though. I've been given steroid cream, better than antibiotics I guess! Now sat down at home, not moving again!
Good afternoon . Back from dentist all went well . Sorry to hear that your O H is in hospital Runners .I hope that he comes home soon .Many years ago the Leeds blood bank were asking for RH NEG blood . I went to donate but was unable to give blood .They told me I had to be free of prescription drugs for at least six months .That wasn’t possible .I was really sorry about that because the blood was needed for a scheduled operation.
Well done on donating a pint of your finest Chive - somebody, somewhere will appreciate it very much.
I became a blood donor when I was 18. A group of us 6th formers went for a laugh & it became a habit. Got my silver badge & then some. Finally gave up mid menopause. Had a run of refusals because I’d had a cold / been to the wrong holiday destinations/ blood drop didn’t sink or whatever. Then I eventually got to give some only to have a hot flush while I was enjoying the tea and biscuits which made me faint. One and only time I’ve fainted and I did it big time. Very embarrassing. Advised to give it a miss for a few years. Maybe I should go back for another try now all that’s done & dusted.
Pansy - you’re right about the Australian government. So much ill feeling towards them over there at the moment.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Hello everyone. We had a good night last night despite coming 12th and Ellie, our landlady paying out to first and 19th. Great fun was had by all.
Sorry Chey, but your post wasn't there when I posted last. Great news that you got out in some fresh air to go to the Doc's. Remember, small steps do it. By 14th you should be ready to get back to college.
My one and only attempt at donating blood was when I was a student and they wouldn't let me give blood because I was too light. (Sigh!) those were the days! Well done Chive.

Good morning LB, Chive, Rubee and all to follow. RB, So very sorry to read that your OH is in hospital. Hope nothing to bad and he is able to come home soon. Very best wishes for a speedy recovery. Hope you're ok too, big hugs and very best wishes xx Sorry too about you breaking your glasses and the parking fine. Ouch that was an expensive trip out.
Ooh Pansy, that sounds like a nasty fall, lucky you didn't fall down the stairs. Hope you're not in too much pain. Glad they managed to repair your glasses. Out later with OH he's going to Pilates......a very gentle one. But will help him build up some strength. I've forgotten everything else I've read......so many pages 😂 Take care everyone TTFN
