    We're home.
I elected to have my endoscopy without sedation so I could drive home. What a deeply unpleasant procedure it was.
I'm not in a lot of discomfort and " passing a lot a wind "
No idea how Hubby's went, he's being somewhat tight lipped about it all.

  • Glad you're both home ... take it easy for the rest of the day.

I’m putting my feet up now, I’ve hoovered and polished the two rooms for guests at Christmas, polished the sitting room, open and studied guide book (only in English so quite small) the new tv recorder we bought each other for joint Christmas present so will sit down and set it up.
just having a nice cup of coffee.
The rain has finally let up for a little while, Cornwall was badly flooded yesterday, knee deep in Hayle.

The water is back, thank goodness.
I've been preparing Christmas dinner for 17 of us tonight after the local Carol Service.
Salmon mousse made, stuffing balls and roast potatoes are pre-roasted, bread sauce, basic gravy, cranberry sauce done, veg prepared (OH helped). Tables set.

    Good afternoon.
Plenty of preps going on today.
I did an 8am SM run, just for tit-bits,  it was really quiet but only had one till open. Then went to a larger SM at 12 for some stuff for Dad and it was the typical pre-Xmas queues and full trolleys. Somebody was picking up about a dozen bags of sprouts!?!? I am hoping not to have to go shopping again now until I run out of milk after Christmas.

Hope you and hubby recover from your ‘experiences’ today @Hostafan1.

Have a good rest of the day folks.

I opted for the full sedation bit @Hostafan1 so don't know what it was actually like.
Sympathies to both of you and anybody else still poorly.
@Busy-Lizzie - you have my admiration - any more than 6 people I totally freak out so can't imagine 17!!!

OH has just got the tree and decs down, he's out carousing tomorrow so I hope to have a peaceful day getting it all ready.  No idea when daughter's arriving.....

As log as you have the necessary dishes and plates and so on, feeding 17 is no harder than feeding 6.  Just have to be organised and sensible about the menu too.  It's good fun - as long as someone else clears up the dirty dishes afterwards.

Tree done.  Well, first phase anyway.  It will no doubt be tweaked.   Mushrooms cooking for a garlicky pasta sauce.   Wine poured.

    Have a lovely evening everyone.

Think I over indulged at dinner, feeling very full and slightly drunk. animated-christmas-smiley-image-0242 It went off very well. Made a bit too much food so handed out a roll of freezer bags and told people to help themselves to what was left. I put some in the fridge first for tomorrow. While I was chatting in the dining room a friend had crept into the kitchen, washed up all the saucepans and loaded the dishwasher

That's the way to do it @Busy-Lizzie.

Hope @Pat E  and her hubby are ok. The news from Australia sounds grim.

@Busy-Lizzie  that sounds like a splendid evening. 😊

Still pitch dark here ... can’t see any sign of frost and I don’t think it’s raining.
