The string I bought is of coloured lights as I don't like those ice white ones either but that make of light string is available in ice white and warm white too. They are way too teeny to cause light pollution. The street light which is LED ice white is brighter. I hated the day they swapped the warm orange sodium light for this one we have now.

Did you watch the rugby match earlier Runners - Northampton v Leinster? I've just been out to put some stuff in the boot of the car for tomorrow and its started to rain.

Thanks for the info - battery seems to be the way to go if I decide to invest.

Definitely warm white lights required! I have created such a fuss about getting good quality, warm white, low energy bulbs around the house. So that things look the same as they did in the good old days with a 60w filament bulb. It was quite a job to find anything suitable in the early days of low energy bulbs.

Next door has what must be a really old batch of low energy bulbs. From the outside their house looks really gloomy because the bulbs don’t really cast that much light and they are a positively blue colour. Hideous. Everyone in there must look like they’ve been sucked dry by Dracula.

Rain battering off the windows and the wind has blown one bin over and opened the lids of two others.  They can stay like that until tomorrow.

The street lights shine on my garden  so other lights would need to be brightly coloured which I wouldn't want.

Thats a tale and a half but well done to the Coop for forking out. Lily isn't keen on salmon flavoured food either. Jack's cat gets her cast offs.

Thanks Hazel. I’ll have a think about how much I’d like some outdoor lights. There’s a crab apple by the front gate which might look quite festive with a tasteful little display.

Off to bed now. Night all😴😴😴

Are you all still safe after last night's wild weather? I hope your bins haven't all blown away Joyce, and those who may have swept leaves up yesterday, don't find them evenly distributed around the garden again. Apparently we can expect more today. Deep joy! Nevertheless a very good morning to one and all. Sunrise over Somerton is today's picture T'Bird.
