I'm trying desperately to remember the name of an old pub down an alley in the centre of Leeds. Whitlock's?? Whitehouses?? Used to go there regularly on office jollies.
I'm going to have to Google the name now aren't I?

And it's really doing my head in that I can't bring to mind the name of those little yellow bulbs that pop up absolutely everywhere in spring and die back completely. Been trying to remember since about 3pm. The first ones look nice and jolly but they look very garish when there's lots of them. They're like weeds - spread absolutely everywhere, have flowers not unlike dandelions and when you dig them up there's a whole cluster of little bulbets like a teeny tiny potatoes (you could harvest some for Millicent's house MU - put them in a mini trug and pretend she's been digging the veggie plot).

HELP! please - what are they???

Runners - yep - I'd recommend something stronger too. They don't come down here - too dark and no footpaths.

Pansy - sounds promising on the puss cat front. As Churchill (was it?) said - this may not be the end, or even the beginning of the end - but it may be the end of the beginning. Fingers crossed.
Nice being able to do your own hair again. The thought of OH doing mine - OMG!

LB - good to know my anti-rat proposed tactics worked in your garden. There's more than enough space for him / her in the surrounding fields and wood - (s)he doesn't need the sanctuary of my garden thank you very much. I'm quite phobic about rats so I was very proud of myself - digging around and banging away - all the time hoping to God a creature wasn't going to emerge from a hole and make a dash for it.

Ante - enjoy decorating tomorrow. I may get mine out of the loft tomorrow but they're not going up yet - no way!
