Morning all. Chive a drizzly cool day today. Enjoy your festive decorating. Pansy the £20 was very good of the Co-op and well received. I wonder if they sorted out the problem? LB a really lovely picture. MU love the Auntie Bodies.
Morning everyone, Had an awful nights sleep again coughing all night. Got up about 4 for a hot drink. Not long been awake this morning. I wish I could get antibiotics over the counter. 🤒😷
Having another lazy day, won't be seeing Poppets today now. 😣 Very windy last night here too, heard the bins banging about. Will have to go and investigate soon, hope it's all still in the bin and not all over the garden!!! Send my best wishes to Chey, LB. Hope he gets better soon. Hope all other poorly peeps are feeling better. How's your hand now PF x
Going to have another cuppa and then maybe go back to bed for an hour. Take care everyone SYL
Hello all. Back from rellie visiting. M-U I LOVE that cartoon and I'm sure Chey will laugh when he sees it. I've photographed it and sent it to Chey. Ruby, my weather was exactly the same as yours last night. At least there is a wee bit of sunshine now but it is still very wild. Joyce, you mean someone had the temerity to eat that work of art (hah!) They must have read what I said to PF yesterday
PF - that is one teeny hook to catch a fly!
Will do Pauline. I think Chey is hoping to be out today.
Yoo hoo Pottie
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Afternoon all. We've had a lovely day (not!) - clearing leaf debris and foul smelling sludge from the gutters. Also pressure washed the slabs around the compost bins and sheds which were absolutely slick with algae. Nearly went a$$e over tip on Friday it was so slippery.
Also been measuring up for new curtains in the hall. I've had 10m of material sat in the snug for about 6 years (no point rushing these things🤭) waiting to be made up for the sitting room but I've now decided it will look better in the hall. Will buy liner and tape tomorrow.
@star gaze lily - I'm sorry to hear you're still feeling rotten. It definitely sounds as though you have the same lurgy I had. The actual cold bit of it wasn't too bad and I didn't really feel that ill but the cough was dreadful. I got no more than snatched 20 minute sessions of sleep for days.
I did mention on here that the pharmacist gave me some Pholcodeine Linctus which (after a couple of doses) really seemed to help suppress the cough for a few hours.
It's available over the counter but is not on the open shelves. It's only for dry, non-productive coughs, it's not suitable for everyone and shouldn't be taken with some other medications but it might be worth asking.
Have you also tried steam inhalations to soothe your airways? Trouble is once they're irritated, the irritation makes you cough, which irritates them further, which makes you cough more. It's a really vicious circle and quite hard to break. Best wishes. x
Got the dekkies out of the loft yesterday. Might put them up towards the end of this week. We'll see.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Codeine does supress coughing but a side effect is that it can make you costive - not pleasant. It was the coughing that wore me out too T'Bird and SGL. Its horrible when you are desperate to sleep.

Heard on the radio that THAT banana has been eaten.....
Still blowing a hoolie so the bin can stay on the ground.
