My reason to moan is Who or What is nbsp ?  I've noticed it cropping up several times - is it some kind of code ?
I've noticed it too. I think we need a clever person to answer it.  ;)

No they are when the skin on my thumb splits picking them in the freezing cold. Not a problem this year as a) it is very mild, b) I now cut the whole stalk off and strip them off at home in the warm dry kitchen.

Have you noticed the number of recipes to make sprouts acceptable to people who hate them?
Chorizo, chestnuts, stir fry. I like them plain. they're like little cabbages to me. If you hate them, you hate them. There's nothing you could do to a parsnip to make me like it. A sprout hater will spot it whatever you do.

I think it’s hilarious that people cook sprouts ‘as tradition’ even if they know nobody will eat them. Ditto Christmas Puds, Christmas cake and mince pies. Just don’t buy them folks! I will never do Turkey or Xmas pud. I actually like Brussels sprouts which, as is the alternative view, counts as Humbug-ness I think.

I'm curmudgeonly because I love mince pies,  Christmas pud and Christmas cake, but can't swallow currants raisins sultanas or nuts.........as well as several other things....including chocolate .

We all love Brussels Sprouts, the 2 grandsons were weened on them, carrots and parsnips so they just eat whatever’s put on the plate.
