I'm not getting into the household chores argument. Division of labour and skills are key. Women can learn to delegate and men can learn household tasks and childcare. Both can add items to a written shopping list. I'm sticking with all the cooking tho cos a) I like it and b) OH seems to need every single pot in te kitchen and c) now they're easily available he might try and sneak in some gésiers or andouillettes.
As for @wild edge's proposition for alternative holidays they would all end up commercialised and the sheep would believe the hype and by the tat and then comlain about the costs. Halloween is Celtic in origin, Christmas and Easter are Pagan. They've become over hyped and over comercialised largely because of the USA. Mainland Europe has been better at "culture" resistance than the UK probably because of the shared language.

"The price good men (and women) pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men (and women)."
Hard to dump someone who's got you up the duff though and you're relying on them financially because you are a slave to your house and child.
That poor women having to find time to find a good nanny as well remembering to pay her cleaner while coming up with such deep wisdom as "Here's an example of one time when a man wasn't capable of psychic thought depicted in a patronising cartoon format that surely even men can understand".
I did joke with my wife the other day that she needs to take on a second husband to help me keep up with my jobs. She said there was too much training involved though.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
Anyone using the word "nagged" after reading the following Guardian article, should get dumped.

That’s why I don’t ever want to change mine again,
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
The trouble is if you don't do the cooking yourself, you could really fancy fish and chips and end up complimenting the chef on a 'truly delicious' spag bol😕
My wife booked my oldest boy in for the flu nasal spray when she was at the doctors' last week and the appointment was this evening. I went down there with him and sat in the waiting room for half an hour before they told me that he can't have it because he's a few days too young. Apparently it's not licenced for kids younger than 2 but even though he is actually 2 and has been for a few months now he still isn't eligible. I'm not sure why they didn't just check that when they booked him in though.
