I kinda wanted to be asleep by now :|
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

One afternoon, I was taking tea in Worthing - not the most go-ahead town on the south coast - and in came a party of about 12 mature ladies, all dressed in purple with red hats.
I always though Worthing was where the good people of Sussex went to die.Ā  Haslemere was once described that way for SurreyĀ  and the Isle of Wight and Milford on Sea for Hampshire
Some go to Worthing, but God's main waiting room is Bexhill on Sea.Ā  It has a higher percentage of retired people than any other town in the UK.Ā  The streets are deserted after 5pm, even in summer.

Until January, the town with the oldest population in France was les Sables d'Olonne which is where OH and I like to go and play - market, stroll along the front, lunch, pottering about then SM and home.Ā  Ā It's a major holiday destination for the French, Brits, Dutch so we usually avoid it in August.

It's where people go to retire from Paris, inland France and northern France because it's very sunny, has great ocean views and lots going on because they're all active, busy people.Ā  Sleepy and tacky it is not.Ā  Ā It is twinned with Worthing.

It is no longer the oldest because, in a drive for efficiency and resource management, it has fused with two neighbouring council areas which have a younger, working population amongst all the retirees who don't want to live with all the tourists under their feet all summer.

  • At a little train station in Suffolk there’s an arrow pointing to the Down platform stating ā€˜To Harwich and the Continent’ ... some wag had chalked another arrow in the opposite direction and the legend ā€˜To Southwold and the Incontinent’ Ā True story šŸ‘Ā

Gardening in Central NorfolkĀ on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

No matter what your political affiliations ,( if any),Ā  am I the only person who thinks this is going to be the nastiest, dirtiest, name calling , lie filled, fake newsed election ever?
    Devon.

You just pick the lie you would've liked to be true
    What else can you do?

Isn't the whole spectacle just too depressing.
Rocks and hard places spring to mind.

I’m actually glad I don’t qualify to vote, anywhere. As a lowly resident, not a citizen, I am not eligible to vote in Spain - equally a mess here, with the fourth election in four years still not producing a working majority. Nor can I vote in the UK, because I am not a resident. Solves the conundrum.
