Received info on change of day and rota, now two week intervals, not weekly.
Put out rubbish in good time on the appointed Tuesday, as did the folk further down the hill. Went out today and both lots were still there.
Don't know if they never came or if they refused (pun intended!) to take our stuff. It is a rural area and we have to put it by the roadside some distance from our homes - half a mile down a potholed farm track in my case, and I don't know how far down a lane too narrow for the bin lorry in theirs. As you can't get a full wheely bin in the average car boot, even if you could lift it, unlike most people, we are allowed to use black bin bags. Perhaps they thought we were being difficult?
I will have to fetch it in though, before the local wildlife scatter it far and wide. They would probably have done so already if I wasn't vegetarian!
I think our bin collection is stopping soon - will have to go and check and doesn't resume until end of Jan, or is it Feb. The annual charge is still the same though!
We're shattered today as had a horrendous journey in torrential rain all the way up and back on the M1/M180 to Grimsby from Leics yesterday. My sister's OH drove us and he's a very good and considerate driver. Another funeral unfortunately, my uncle's. The sad thing is that his wife, my beloved favourite aunt is also very ill and not expected to survive so we expect to have to go back up, I'm guessing before Xmas. The only good thing about yesterday is that cousins came from all over the country, Newhaven, Southampton, Oxford, London to name but a few and a couple flew in from Dubai especially. We don't meet up very often so it was good to see them all. We've resolved to have a grand happy family reunion in May next year when we can all get together - last time there were over a 100 of us!
It took until after 1:30am to get the baby to go to sleep and 10 minutes later, just as I'm finally getting warm and comfy in bed, the other one wakes up.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
Yes those glossy leaflets are very annoying - I always think about how much they cost and how many nurses or police officers they could have funded instead (as I put them in the recycle box, also wondering if they are even recyclable).
I was just looking at the washing instructions on a top I bought today. Would you adamaneve it?! It was made in the UK!! Do you think maybe it was really old stock?
Great Aunt Sylvia had to go to hospital last xmas, they did some tests and said that she had a mass on her liver. They weren't going to do anything, so sent her home. I don't think she understood that they thought she only had 3 months to go. We celebrate her 104th Birthday next week.
