    How true @Dovefromabove.Ā Yonks ago, we had a convertible Smart and it was amazing how many trees, shrubs and bags of compost you could pack into that. The new one is a big bigger...

    If I may be curmudgeonly for a moment, it has taken a month for the dealer to get the paintwork touched up (it’s second-hand, we are not that rolling in it) and the transfer paperwork sorted, so by the time we get the car it will probably be snowing šŸ™„Ā

    I like to watch the Christmas adverts with the sound down and guess the supermarket.
    I'm usually right. M&S was always the most aspirational.
    This year, it was so beige, i guessed Iceland or Asda.

    One afternoon, I was taking tea in Worthing - not the most go-ahead town on the south coast - and in came a party of about 12 mature ladies, all dressed in purple with red hats.

    I always though Worthing was where the good people of Sussex went to die.Ā  Haslemere was once described that way for SurreyĀ  and the Isle of Wight and Milford on Sea for Hampshire
