Hello - busy week, two days in London - I'm just on my way home from the second one. Managed to make some sweet chilli sauce and veg stock in between the work but not been able to get out in the garden - too wet. I had to take the strimmer to part of the grass last week. It was getting so long the dogs were starting to make sheep trails across the lawn, so I had to rough cut some paths. It looks awful but it hopefully will stop it ending up as a mudbath.
Good news PunkD. Sorry your weather is so trying Pat. Sounds like you're having a whale of a time Chcky. All going well - if a little damp - for you too, Liri. Hi to everyone else - hope you all have a good weekend.
Knees run in our family, as Mum used to say. But she also said I was lucky to have got her sense of humour and Dad's mathematical ability. It could have been MUCH worse...

Looks like it's fairly good news all round - except perhaps for Pat so commiserations for your awfull hot weather Pat. We've had a lovely day out (apart from torrential rain whilst travelling) to Cricket St Thomas in Somerset for a friend's 80th birthday surprise cream tea. About 24 people went and a good time was had by all (aided by prosecco!). The lady concerned was absolutely gobsmacked to see us all there and as we believe there has not been much luxury in her life, it was lovely to lay on something a bit special for her. Her only transport for many, many years has been a 1930's Austin 10, which she valiantly drives all round the country (albeit at 30 mph everywhere!). Back home now absolutely stuffed.
It has stopped raining for a while and we even have some sunny bits. Off to fetch a pawlonia this pm from a lady who has babies to give away. It seems this baby is about 2.5m high.
One of the effects of all this recent rain is that the osteospermum that has sulked for months in the new rose beds has put on a burst of growth and is flowering and the penstemons are bursting forth too and the one surviving sacrificial nasturtium is striding forth. I shall have to put my wellies on and go and see what else is happy.
Have a happy day everyone.

I hope you get some rain @Pat E.
