  • Good morning all  :) ☕️
A bit murky out there but at least it’s not raining.
How’s the kitten this morning @lyn?  Has it got a name yet? 😊

Good Morning. The sky is fairly clear here this morning. My big Acer is changing colour before my eyes - it’s the last one in the garden to colour-up then shed it’s leaves. It will be bright red this week and then orange/gold. Oh Lyn - we need a name! Can we pick?? Hope they did ok overnight. Have a good day all.

    Morning @Dovefromabove/afties Pat if you're in  :)
It's dark, murky and lots of black clouds here too - but dry just now too. Not for long if the forecast is right.
Hope @Busy-Lizzie doesn't have any more fallen trees today - or worse, tomorrow - when she needs to get her flight.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

  • Hopefully the weather will stay as it is for @Busy-Lizzie ‘s stay in Norfolk ... we currently have a very autumnal spell ... misty moisty and very still ... and a lot of the trees are still holding their leaves ... the oaks in particular are beautiful at the moment ... gorgeous golds and deep russets. 😊

I love this time of year Dove - our autumn here has been a little different to the norm, but we still have maples with foliage on them so that's always nice. Lots of colours to see still  :)
Wonder if Ken and Barbie will put in an appearance on the feeder today....

  • I’ve nearly finished knitting MILs Christmas present, and while sitting in bed with my coffee  have ordered myself some gorgeous new yarn for a jacket for myself https://www.laughinghens.us/knitting-wool/sublime-elodie/600-rosalyn<3

Our ornamental trees (acers, lquidambers) have nearly finished their show here, but the native woodlanders (of which there are many, many more) are just getting into their stride.  The beech in particular are positively glowing ...... beautiful

Thats the view from our bedroom .....I’m having a lazy morning.  Just finished my latest book club book, and having a little sob 😢.  Really good, but disturbing story of the “orphans” we shipped to Australia after the war as “white stock”.  Shocking, in a ”civilised” society, and almost in my lifetime 😢

    Lovely jubbly @chicky :)
The chap across from me has a field maple which he pollards every year - it would block all the sun to his house if he didn't. It's all yellow now, and will drop it's leaves soon, but I enjoy seeing it every morning when I open the curtains. We've been fortunate that we haven't had any wild weather in the last few weeks, which means we can enjoy the foliage a bit longer. Beeches are all bare now round here - but there's a huge amount of beech nuts. Crunchy to walk on  :)
    Nice colours @Dovefromabove

    Morning all.
Still tipping with rain here. Hope it eases off before the hay is delivered this afternoon.

@chicky your bedroom view is just like mine from the back window, the trees, mostly oak down the side of the paddock. My oaks are only just starting to turn yellow.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
