Afties Joyce and Ante. Enjoy your natter with your visitor this afternoon Joyce. Ante - as ever - your harvested vegetables look absolutely marvellous. You never seem to have any pests that have eaten into them - or are you not showing us those?

That's a nicely composed, colourful arrangement Ante.

Ante that looks delicious! All home grown so get it tastes really good. My tomatoes didn’t really ripen and the birds got all the berries  so not much of a harvest this year.
Been to see mom who has now taken to phoning the police if nurses don’t come quickly enough! She is unable to speak so officers contact the home. The poor staff are at their wits end they are very busy and trying their best. I did take chocolates and a card today and we tried to dissuade mom but not sure how persuasive we were. The combination of MND and mental health problems are making life difficult for everyone trying to care for mom at the moment.
On a brighter note I had a lovely Halloween and looking forward to my bonfire party on Sunday, it’s my Dads birthday on 3rd so fireworks and family will be a perfect way to remember him, he always loved a good bonfire!

I'm quite satisfied this year because it wasn't so much pests. I don't use any chemicals and you must have a special licence to buy one. Even for weed killer. I had a lot of problems with weeds.
Last year my carrots were attacked by carrot fly and turnips by leaf wasp. I found only one carrot with carrot fly until now. Blight was also problem on tomatoes.

Well you have had a perfect year this year for your food crops and harvest Ante. It must feel very rewarding for all your hard work. By the way, how is the lady who helps you doing now? Is she fully recovered?

Thanks for asking LB, she is ok now. She took off the cast from right hand yesterday. She was going with me all the time and done  small things.

    Afternoon!

Nipped out to the SM for milk and to the deli counter - they're already shoving all the festive decorations into our faces...

Afties Chey. It does start to get irritating doesn't it. By the time the festive season comes around most people have had enough and they are completely switched off.
