  • Good morning all 😊 ☕️
its a lovely sunny morning and unexpectedly OH is at home for the day as he is covering for a colleague tomorrow ... that’ll be his last day at work before we pack and head off at first light Thursday to travel down to ‘our favourite B&B’ 😉

Good morning.   Fabulous moonlight last night after a cracking sunset.   Woken up to a cool, fresh, sunny morning which will head up to 33C later this afternoon.

Cracking on with h*work this morning then so we're ship-shape for our friends arriving at around 6pm, jet-lagged so probably knackered.

Greenhouse plans coming together well then @Chicky and just in time for spring sowings.  Your winds sound exciting in the wrong way @Fairygirl.   Hope they calm down soon.   Wouldn't want your kind of excitement @Yviestevie

A lof the Grockles return for the weekends here @Hostafan1 as quite a lot are just an hour or two inland and have holiday cottages and statics.   Not like the Parisians who descend in hoards and drive badly.   Saw just the end of the proms @Dovefromabove.   Will they still end the same when Scotland goes independent?   Naughty Obxx.

    Have a lovely Sunday everyone.

Oh @Obelixx ... my fear is that if it becomes independent the whole of Scotland will sink into the briny due to the weight of the influx of the many who want to retain the advantages of EU membership. 😨
    Naughty Dove eh? 😉

Very interesting talk by Tom Shakespeare this morning in R4s A Point of View ... he used to live just up the road from us and was one of OHs customers, but he’s moved to London.

  • Good morning all.    :)

That greenhouse sounds fab, @chicky.  What a great way to remember much-loved relatives...

It's a bit damp this morning, but yesterday was lovely and bright - a bit chilly early on, but ideal for a day at the Harrogate flower show, which is where I went.  Quite a lot to admire and enjoy, though they've given up the show gardens; there were some little borders but they were pretty uninspiring, to be honest, but the nurseries had some lovely displays.  The national veg championships are held there, but there are only so many oversized carrots I can take an interest in.  The winning pot leek had beautifully washed hair, though.

    And the dahlias were stupendous!

@Liriodendron I've been to the Harrogate spring show but never really fancied the autumn one, mind you those Dahlias do look amazing.
Apologies, afternoon all, where are my manners.  Been to see mum this morning and she was a bit more cheerful so I don't feel quite as guilty today. Have a list of jobs to do in the grden but feeling a bit achey so not sure if I'll get round to any of them.  I've been checking out my seeds and think I'll start off some Achillea Cerise Queen and some Foxgloves this week.  Toying with popping to Ashwoods to see they have anything that might brighten a couple of spots up where things have been cut back.  Or I might just watch a bit of TV.  As you can see today seems to be one of indecision.

    The leek made me smile.

I was uncultured last night and watched Strictly, the Professionals instead of Last Night of the Proms.

We've been packing for La Rochelle tomorrow. OH has put the wheelchair into the boot of my Renault Megane Estate, for B from the village, not a lot of room left for suitcases. We told B's wife, to cut down on luggage, she took loads when we went to Lake Maggiore! OH and I have managed to share one small Ryanair size suitcase between us. Luckily it will be warm so no need for extra clothes like jumpers. Three days after we get back we'll be off to a Doveless Norfolk.

@Busy-Lizzie I’m glad there’ll be someone responsible in Norfolk to keep an eye on things 😉
    Enjoy La Rochelle 😎
