Well that’s the meal out of the way. Just some pan-fried chicken with a sprinkle of salt, black pepper and sumac, then drowned in gravity, and potato, peas, beans, and corn. Washing up done and sitting in front of TV. 😁
Have a good time @robbie2red. Hope the weather holds for you
Pat - is that a new type of 'floating' sauce? 'drowned in gravity' Good ol' predictive text Sounds like a nice tea. I take it hubby is getting his appetite and taste buds back. That's great
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
He only has about three mouthfuls then puts his knife and fork down and sits back. 😡 it hardly seems worth the effort sometimes. Grrr. At least I enjoyed it and what’s more, there is enough left for tomorrow night.
I think chicken drowned in gravity sounds like a great dish .......could really catch on 😉
Mr C is spending the day finishing of the painting in Chicklet’s room - they have powered through it since the weather cooled down. Chicklets have their cousins visiting - last hurrah before littlest Chicklet heads down under 🇦🇺 . So I think I am going to head down to the unusual plant fair at the Sussex Prairie Gardens 😀
Drama here this morning ... a crash outside then a silence and a long
wail ... a lad about 10/11 had come down the hill on his bike a bit
faster than he should've ... his bike had one of those 'quick release'
front wheels, and somehow it came off ... he catapulted over the
handlebars and landed hard on the kerb hitting his face (forehead/temple
area). We rushed out as did the couple up the road who work with the
Scouts ... his mum and brother were further up the hill with the dog and
they came running down ... poor lad felt sick and was as white as a
sheet ... he said his ribs hurt too ... think he bounced them on the
kerb!
The mum tried to phone the dad who was out in the car ... eventually
he answered and came back and they took him to A&E ... we took
care of the bike and the brother's scooter ... think OH wanted to take
care of the dog too, but he was put in the back of the car.
About
an hour later the dad came round for the bike etc and to thank us ...
he said there was no wait at all in the Children's A&E ... they
don't think there's anything broken but some nasty bruises ... he'll
have a right shiner to go back to school with ... and
they're keeping him under observation for a while in case of concussion.
He said they're always trying to get him to wear a helmet but he won't
... hopefully a trip to A&E will persuade him.
While
all that was going on we had a text from 17 year old niece to say she'd
been blue-lighted to A&E on one of those backboard thingummies the
other day ... she was in a judo competition and was thrown and landed
badly and they thought she might have broken her neck!!! Thankfully she hasn't and is ok ... and she said she still finished in Bronze position
Hopefully the rest of the day will be a little calmer ...
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
We had a calmer morning watching our wildlife visitor. She was quite content browsing for rotten windfall apples then chewing the cud. She wandered off to help prune the wild raspberries for dessert.
I didnt see see the typo Fairy and Chicky 🙄 I was too busy watching the bike riders slipping and sliding in the rain around the wonderful mountain roads in Spain. Very exciting race. We are stunned at the scenery in Spain.
My hubby came off his pushbike on the canal towpath. There was a root hidden by the way the shadows fell, and he went over the handlebars. Horrendous bruising and he broke the helmet. If he hadn't had a helmet on, he would probably have been either dead or brain damaged. He started wearing one in Australia, where it is compulsory. He often comes across cycling families where everyone except the father wears a helmet. Why?
Afternoon all. A beautiful start to September here. A minor hangover has not stopped me doing some bits in the garden today. The gin cocktails went down a storm last night. We had a cracking party - food, a live band and plenty of laughs. Many will still be suffering and the lovely host will have a recycling mountain today.
The botanicals (all from my garden) I used for the drink garnishes:
Mint, Rosemary, Parsley, Lemon Verbena, Lemon Thyme, Thyme, Lavender, Pansies, Rose petals and Geranium petals. Had with slices of citrus fruits or berries.
