Exactly @Lyn.   Need better regulations on directors' and shareholders' bonuses witha  firm foundaton in profit and sustainability of a company before any are handed out.

The turkeys would have to vote for Christmas. Not going to happen.

And don't expect a Tory government to even suggest such moves.

I'm not ready for the modern world. My car is in for a service today and they've given me a little Toyota hatchback as a courtesy car. It took me 5 minutes of messing about with buttons and knobs before I realised the radio was touch screen. :#

I keep touching the screen on my laptop and wondering why nothing is happening

Me neither, when I bought my car last year I just asked the garage how I turn of all the automatic bits.  I know when I need my wipers and lights on, don’t need the car to tell me.

  • I like my automatic wipers and can live with the automatic lights but the dashboard arrow that endlessly tells me to change gear up or down is absolutely infuriating!

I first met automatic wipers in a rented Skoda provided by the insurance company.  Hated it but now accept it in our more recent cars and in many models they are adjustable.   Hated cruise control too but have embraced it after accidentally switching it on one day and deciding it lets me concentrate more on what other drivers are up to.

We have had automatic gear boxes for years after back problems made it difficult for me to engage the clutch well when needed.  Can't tell you how often I itch to tell manual drivers to change up or down and wonder that they can't hear the engine talking to them.

My grump for today?  Rain!  Been wanting rain for months and not getting it and now, on the first day I have actually planned, am free, to plant my spring bulbs, it's tipping down.   Typical.  Not complaining really, just grumping about best laid plans.

The automatic wipers on my car border on downright dangerous.  :/

  • Didn't get my carrots out of the garden. They are covered in plastic. Might throw some fibrous landscaping fabric over them, but it's supposed to go to -4. Are they doomed?
