After 9 months, I am still receiving demands for repayment of credit card loans, utility bills, child maintenance, etc. addressed to 6 different names ( former tenants I believe ) Returning to sender never seemed to work - opening the post and contacting the sender where possible doesn't work either. Apparently, every so often, the Bailiffs are about to knock on the door - the only bailiff I've ever seen are those who appear on TV. I'm always gobsmacked when I actually get post addressed to me. Phew - feel better for that
I still get mail for the previous owner of this house - been here over six years. I gave up too - I chuck it in the recycling now @raisingirl- the mother was too interested in herself. I kept seeing them all going round the shop. She hardly ever looked in his direction, and I saw the kid several times making a lot of noise - to no effect. The father had disappeared as well - maybe that's why the kid was doing it
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
They've become the very thing they set out to destroy
I'm annoyee because I ordered a pair of Jakoti shears on Amazon that was heavily discounted due to cosmetic damage. They've turned up and the handle grip material is only just hanging on thanks to some massive scrapes down the one side. It's an easy fix but it would take a chunk out of the discounted price to buy the heat shrink grip material. Do I send it back and condemn it to landfill or suck up the loss of the discount and fix it up better than new? I wonder if Jakoti would send me some material actually if I asked nicely.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

It wouldn't hurt to ask (tell them the damage is more than cosmetic and you're disappointed etc.). The worst they can do is say no and then you can be curmudgeonly all over again
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained
I emailed Jakoti and explained the situation honestly. I asked if they could sell me the heat shrink grips to replace the damaged ones. A lady from customer services rang me back very quickly and explained that they don't keep the grips as spare parts but they have been a recent addition and previously the shears didn't have grip material at all just painted metal. She said people often remove the grips if they don't like them or if I wanted to replace them it was a standard electrical heat shrink that was used. I'm going to cut them off I think and try it without for now. They're made by a family company in Greece apparently which is nice to know. It's certainly nice to deal with small companies like this than try and get sense out of Amazon.

If you need ID for LA beer, what checks do you need to pass to buy mouthwash?
