I've always assumed they didn't have wings. Could you imagine how much bigger a nuisance they'd be if they could fly as well.... I found a big grub the other day. It went on the feeder base. Think it kept the robin well fed for a while.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Had to read quite a long way back to see the cause of the anti-virals, @Liriodendron. What a massive PITA (or rather, PITetc), so sorry. Have you had it/them before? Hope you feel better soon. When's the moving date?

It's autumn planting season and I want some large but cheap plastic pots, so I went along to the local branch of A popular cheap reshop, only to find that the gardening stuff has been taken off the shelves and replaced with bl***y Ch******s tat. Bah humbug 😒
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained
I went to BnQ a few months back and their plastic pot recycling bin was full of good sized pots. I was hard pressed not to take a load away with me but I'm trying to cut down on pots not get more
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
Thanks, @LG_. No, I had chicken pox aged 16 - apparently you can only get shingles if you've already had chicken pox* - and it seems to be more common if you're stressed... hmm... just looking at the piles of things needing to be done before we move (on October 22nd). * I can't pass on shingles to anyone, but can give them chicken pox. Odd. At least it lets me off doing the shopping for a bit...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Yes, the chicken pox / shingles link can be quite confusing can't it? I hope the pain is easing now. But take it easy - stressing about the move is not going to help. All will be well... (hmmm - not very curmudgeonly. Forgive me).

Maybe a bit late for you @Liriodendron but there is now a vaccine against shingles which the UK offers to people between 70 and 78 yrs old. I decided not to wait and we have paid to have the vaccine here. Had a friend and work colleague with stress related shingles in her mid 30s and saw the pain and discomfort she was in when I went round tehre very lunch time to paint stuff on the bits she couldn't get to. Decided it should be avoided if possible.
Worth asking your GP about either before or after your move. At the very least it will reduce symptoms should you get it again.
