I opened the curtain this morning and there's a damn vine weevil on the wall outside the window. It's 3 stories up and out of reach so I'm relying on the sparrows to sort it out for me. I might go and find a long stick though...

I had that a few years ago and was advised to smash the window.

    Or a bungee?

I've got that Wallace and Gromit bit from A Close Shave  in my mind now....'the bounce has gone from his bungee'  :D

It disappeared before I could find a long enough stick. Hopefully it either got eaten or it took up a short career in skydiving.

Getting beyond a joke now.  Saturday's several mms which were reduced to 2.4 have now disappeared altogether with a faint promise of .5mm on Sunday, just before dawn.  We might then get 5mm over the following 3 or 4 days.   Likely story.

Do vine weevils not have wings then WE?  Must admit I've never knowingly met one.

I think they have wings but they don't or can't use them.
