    Afternoon!

Chive, The problem with buying plant stuff on Amazon is it has this little feature where it goes "Oh, you liked that? Here's 56 other plant pots/plant feeders/seed packets/plant foods/bedding plants that we think you'd like!" Followed by a rapidly draining bank account...

The problem with buying food online? They try and tempt you with tons of offers!
Do I need 30 cans of Coke Zero? No. But do I have 30 cans of Coke Zero arriving tomorrow, for only £9? Maybe... And Asda always say "Here's something you may have missed!" which is usually a sweet treat I deliberately didn't put in my trolley, like egg custards, but then they tempt you at the checkout.... The online equivalent of sweets at the till I guess!

In my experience both gardening stuff and food, when purchased online, don't really save you any money.. But I can order them from my phone which is very useful.

    Pansy, those flowers are gorgeous!

Chinese for me for dinner tonight! Now, what to have...

Ooh, Bake off starts next Tuesday if anyone here watches it?

I stopped watching Bakeoff when it left the Beeb Chey. I like your shopping online analysis. Even that famous auction site has started to do similar now. How is your finger today?
Chive, I really think that everything is late this growing season. Its definitely been a funny year.
Ruby, I'll bet when you wake up tomorrow you will be very happy with your haircut.
Joyce, I'm going to look at buying manure online as that is one garden commodity I am reluctant to put in the boot of my car for stinky reasons!

Chive, when ordering my groceries I go to ' my favourites ' which lists items bought in the past year so I only occasionally go astray unlike walking round the sm and being tempted.

Ex-colleague was in town and called in for a coffee so had a nice long chat.

Joyce , that must have been so nice having a catch up.
Chive - my car is purring like Lily. Everything feels that bit 'sharper' so they have done a good job. This is the first time that I have used my local garage and whilst I said earlier on I felt I might need at least one new tyre it turns out that was duff gen from the original garage I got the car from. My tyres are all fine The most expensive items the car needed were the specialist spark plugs. There are three in this car and they are just over £17 each. Anyway, I'm very happy and next year's service will just be a little one.

That was not the first time they tried to hoodwink me. Two years ago when my car was in for a service they rang me and told me I needed to have something done (sorry cannot remember the details). I told them it did not need that particular job doing and they got quite shirty but I wouldn't back down. I checked with the service station I go to now and they said that my car didn't have anywhere near enough miles on the clock for that expensive job to be carried out so I felt vindicated. Lasy year I had a problem with my air con unit after a long drive to Hereford for my aunt's funeral. The franchise wanted to charge me over £100 just to LOOK at it before deciding what to do and that is when I went to this local service station. It turned out that there wasn't anything wrong with the unit - it was just overworked on a very hot day. They tested it and showed me the temperature using a digital thermometer through the vents and charged me a minimal amount for the work and that is when I decided to use them from now on. The air con has worked perfectly ever since by the way.

You snuckered in there M-U. Col TT got a bit twitchy when he saw the 'C' word but as it refers to that most luscious of cakes he retreated to his bunker.

You have been very busy Runners.  I just hope it a plant you stripped and not yourself :*  My sm delivery always has perishables and stuff for the freezer.  Makes me re-organise the freezer beforehand which is quite good.
Lazy tea here too. Popped a frozen pizza in the oven.

Runners - care to explain the 'stripped' reference at the start of your post???? Go out in your jammies and buy an ice cream. No one will mind.
