Enjoy the gin, Aunty Rach and the Jaffa Cakes, Hosta.

@chicky - OH went to his appointment about his leg this morning. He has arthritis of his right hip and the wrenching of it has caused inflammation and a flare up of pain. But as he has been limping, resting and walking with a stick he has lost muscle so he will need a course of physio and exercise which starts in October. The muscle helps support the joint.

I did the ironing while he was away.
We did shopping for Sunday this afternoon, friends to lunch, then we collected the car from the garage. But also went to a GC and I bought violas, bamboo canes and plant labels. I wanted to mark where I have sown the GW free foxgloves so that the gardening lady knows.

Good morning @Hostafan1 😊 ☕️ and everyone as you come along 😊 ☕️ Slept fine until 4 ish when I had a dream ... we were on a hiking holiday and lost my bank card 😱. I woke in a panic ... I made a warm drink and got back to sleep after that ... but still feel unaccountably anxious ... hate dreams like that 😣

How horrid @Dovefromabove ......unsettling dreams can hang around for a while.  Hope you have a nice day planned to help banish those feelings.

@Busy-Lizzie hope the physio works .....amazing how quickly muscle strength goes.  I broke my arm a few years ago, and by the time it had healed, 8 weeks later, my shoulder muscle had forgotten what it was there for.  Weird feeling to not be able to move a muscle.  However, it only took a few days doing weird exercises with a stretchy band and I was back to normal🙅🏼‍♀️🙆🏼‍♀️🙅🏼‍♀️

Off to see the gardens at Glyndebourne today with my sisters ......open to the public for one day only. Just packed a picnic 🧺 and I suspect there will be cake 🍰.  Will report back later 🌼🌻🌸

I agree @chicky, our muscles lose tone so quickly especially as we get older ... the summer I broke my foot, I had awful problems with my other knee in the months following the foot’s recovery, simply because the muscles, tendons and ligaments in my other leg had lost tone during my relative inactivity ... it’s taken until this summer to get the stability of that knee back to normal. Do hope @Busy-Lizzie ‘s OH gets the benefit of the physio very quickly ... it’s sooo frustrating ... I really feel for him ☹️

    Morning all/are you there Pat?
Hope the physio helps your hubby @Busy-Lizzie. It's amazing how quickly you can lose that muscle tone. My BIL has had a shoulder injury [ a bit like mine] and I was surprised just how wasted his arm looked. He's now got another problem caused by the first one. Hasn't stopped him doing the things he likes doing, including plenty of diving, but it can be surprising how quickly it happens, as @chicky says. Stand over him with a whip to make sure he does the exercises  ;)
Have a lovely day chicky. Cake is a legal requirement.
No chance of picnics here unless it's under a gazebo or summat. Not stopped raining since yesterday morning.
The birds are stuffing their faces - I'm going to have to fill those feeders again...
What a strange dream @Dovefromabove - wonder what's created that one! A wee nap later maybe. Had a nice chat with friend thanks  :)

Good to see you @Pat E. I was wondering if you'd gone away for a few days and I'd missed you saying. Have you had any rain yet for the ground?

I meant to say this yesterday - I thought of you @Hostafan1 when I was listening to it.
Radio 2 at lunchtime - an item on the 'twitchers' because a rare 'brown booby' had been spotted in Cornwall. The 'expert' guy's name was Dick [ I kid you not  :D ] who runs  an alert to notify folk about rare birds, and part of the chat went something like this:

JV - was this bird on your alert?
Dick - yes, and the alerts go everywhere. It's a mega alert because it's the first time it's been seen here

JV - Dick - have you ever seen boobies before?
Dick - only abroad - California. Brown Boobies are to be expected there....

How JV asked without sniggering, I can't imagine, and the response was just as good  :D
