    Afternoon!

I figured the cat lovers would understand - it was Luco's birthday on the 14th and I missed it! I feel rather guilty....

Afternoon Chey.  I'm sure Luco will enjoy and extra treat at any time.

Phew - wot a scorcher - 28C in the shade - 34C in a sunny corner of the garden. Too hot for me - I may need to lie down and eat ice lollies....

Lovely horse and pony pics Pam - I'm not a horsey person but I'd love a Shetland pony - such tough little cuties.

Hazel - I'm sure your vases will turn up. They're not the sort of thing you will have thrown out or given to a charity shop by accident are they? If they're relatively small you've probably tucked them in with other bits and bobs.
Have you still got any boxes with bits in or a box of clothes or crockery? How about in a chest of drawers or blanket box? (we didn't have to pack the contents - they just moved the furniture with everything in). Hope they turn up soon.

LB - get those gloves on!

Time for a drink and a bite, then I'm going to dead head & water the few pots in the garden. May continue clearing a 'rewilded' part of the garden now things like forget-me-not have set seed. One hour max - too hot for any more.

I've had to come in - it is too too hot outside. Green bin is full, plants are planted and I'll water once the sun goes down - as long as I don't nod off.
Hazel, I agree with T'Bird. Your vases will be in a safe place somewhere. Did you put any boxes up into the loft?

How old is Luco Chey? Perhaps he could have another birthday like the Queen. Cats think they are royal anyway.

My brother has lost things in two house moves. I think he had a month to make a claim if anything was  missing but not all the boxes get unpacked straight away and then it's too late once you realise you can't find something. Hope your vases turn up Hazel.

Hi MU - good to see you🙂 How many days are you doing at the museum? Quite a commitment if you're going in every day they're open.

I'm also going to put one (maybe 2) burning bushes in my woodland border. It's a bit dry in there but most of the info says they need well-drained soil so they should be ok. They look good in the autumn don't they? - a really fiery red.

How those puss cats doing? is Boswell still drowning stuff?

Managed an hour outside this afternoon so the council garden bin is now completely chock-a-block with spent forget-me-nots and herb robert, echinops seedlings, sticky willy, bindweed and a variety of other weeds which seem to grow whether we have rain or not. All the things I don't need to be putting in my own compost bin. No wonder I don't buy the 'soil improver' sold by the council - dread to think what other horrors might still be viable in there. A fragment of Japanese Knotweed perhaps...🤨

Cup of tea time now then need to get my stuff ready for the journey down to Hampshire tomorrow. Not sure which I'm looking forward to the least - A14, M25 and M3 tomorrow or the journey to Kent via the A3 / M25 on Thursday - which is also the first day of the school hols in a lot of places...🤔
