Glad you enjoyed your visit to the Isle of Wight T'bird and at a cooler temperature. Nice to see that some places hadn't changed much since your parents' visit.
Hazel-1, yes, the reserve is a very relaxing place to visit. They have done so much with it over recent years - it was formerly a colliery site. There are reed beds, pond dipping areas, hides, wild life areas, picnic spots. There’s a cafe, too, which serves snacks, light meals and drinks and a shop. It really is lovely.
Yes, I’ve been to Leighton Moss, LB. It is similar, but on a smaller scale. Seems like a lot of us had the terrific storm last night. We are forecast a repeat performance tomorrow night. It’s really humid now, but set to get even hotter tomorrow than it’s been today, with 34C predicted. We must all make sure we drink plenty of water. Right, I’m signing out too, so good night all.
Hazel. I don't work in an office, I work on the factory floor. We make fuel filters,, all the components have to be washed and hot dried before being assembled and then the finished articles are cured by being put through long industrial ovens on a conveyor belt. There is no air conditioning but we do have industrial fans. Horribly hot in this weather but nice In the winter.
Good morning everyone. I'm awake since 4 am. Yesterday was boiling hot day, 37 degree and the last night was unbearable. Don't like AC overnight so I slept poorly. Hope so that was a peak of summer temperature. Despite everything I enjoyed working at my cottage garden. It´s little bit easier in the hills. Maybe I missed something but don't see Pansy here.
Hazel I'm glad that new fence looks good. Maybe neighbours will not notice few inches.
Pauline it must be hard work during summer but you can enjoy at winter time.
