Morning Chive and Hazel. It is pouring down here and has gone very dark. I think I may be confined to the garage Chive - I've got some cardboard cartons that need breaking up and putting in the recycle bin (conveniently emptied last Thursday) so that is my plan. Plus I am awaiting a replacement plant for one that was totally trashed by Yodel last week. Its a Rudbeckia.
I may also go through my wardrobes again and get rid of some more stuff to the Hospice shop. Such an exciting Saturday
When I got back from Canasta yesterday I hung all the cloth things on the string in the garden. At 22:00 I brought them indoors and boy was I glad I had done, as it started teeming down in the night. Smug face here. I need to find a teeny smug face emoji!

Morning🙂 - from a much cooler and very wet Kent. We’ve had loads of storms down here in the SE and it’s still doing it. Still no rain at home though (as of last night) just record temperatures - my poor garden🥵 Can recommend a wet flannel left in the freezer for an hour then laid across the forehead as effective cooler downer.

Went to Chartwell (Churchill’s home) yesterday - quite interesting and pretty gardens and grounds.

First night of the music festival last night. Theme was glam rock so loads of Queen, T Rex, Sweet, Suzy Q etc etc all performed by a live band. They were quite good and everyone was up and dancing - t’was like all my school discos rolled into one night - great fun - ears are still ringing!

Then there was the silent disco...🤪

Everyone wearing bluetooth headphones and you could choose which channel you wanted to listen to so everyone was dancing and singing along to different tracks. Take the headphones off to just watch and listen - absolutely hilarious. Even more so as the average age of the participants is around 60. Quite a few a good bit younger which means there are quite a few a good bit older....

Today we have a soul artiste at lunchtime, easy listening mid afternoon and a Take That tribute act tonight. Then another silent disco...🎉 Different stuff tomorrow. May feel a little fragile by Monday.

Not the best internet here and couldn’t get on yesterday. So it’s a belated Very Happy Birthday to Joyce. Enjoy spending time with your daughter today.

Hope everyone else also has a good day.

Chive, althought the plant was trashed I think I will be able to save it. Actually, I KNOW I will be able to save it as parts of it are looking perky now. It was such a shame though as it had obviously looked much better when it was packed, I'll let you know how the new one looks.
SGL I've been on a water meter for well over 10 years now and admittedly I am the only one in the house.I use my washing machine several times a week, I have a huge fish tank that gets a partial water change regularly (20 gallons per change), I water my gardens and I fill up my two water butts when they have been empty for a while due to lack of rain and I am still paying less than half of the amount per month I paid over those 10 years ago.

T'Bird, that sounds absolutely wonderful. What fun you are having. I puzzled over the 'Silent Disco' until you explained. I'll bet that the locals love those ones.
Joyce - I echo T'Bird in wishing you a happy day with your daughter.
Replacement Rudbeckia just arrived - you wouldn't think it was a similar plant as the poor, battered one but I'm very happy now.

    Morning!

Thrilled when I woke up just now - I can breathe! It's cool! There's no sun! I'm not melting! AND my salvia now has flower buds on it!

Good morning Chey. You sound a very happy bunny today. I think we are all enjoying the cooler temperatures - I know that Lily is.

I've been to the sm, not too busy getting essentials.  Hazel the heavens have opened and it's gone quite dark and still raining now.  It rained all night but cooler than the last few nights.  Topbird sounds like you're having a lovely time and the silent disco sounds funny, everyone in their own bubble.  Ante enjoy a relaxing day and a good watering for the garden courtesy of the weather.  LB and Chive and Chey and Lily and Joyce hope you're enjoying the cooler temperatures.  Crumpets for lunch.

Back from Edward scissor~hands sister 😉 although she was good this time and I like what she's done 🤗😊👍
Still raining on and off, garden looks very refreshed. Not that I want the heat of last week😥😥 but  do hope that we don't get the usual weather that happens once the schools break up! 😣😭

LB, I have no idea what our water bills are......my OH deals with it all😕 I know they are much cheaper, but maybe I'm being extra careful. Do use the washing machine a few times in a week and I much prefer a bath to a shower. But don't have a dish washer. I suppose it's  watering the garden that seems rather a lot coming out of the hose most nights.

Ooh crumpets Rebecca, yum yum 😋😋 yes definitely a better heat today than Thursday, still warm though.
