Afties all. Pimms for me please SGL. Had a nice visit but my friend is just like a baby. She doesn't speak or know anyone. Her OH has a large orchard in which he and fellow enthusiasts have collected and preserved many heritage apples and pears. All quite fascinating. I tried to take picutres but the sun was so bright I couldn't even seen the screen of my mobile to take any. Another time when the fruits are ready. Her OH understandably didn't want to look at the photographs I'd taken up. Seize the day my friends.
Its too hot to go into the garden - think I might just go and sit in the shower.

Chive - you can't beat a cuppa. Nectar of the Gods! Good to hear that your Mum's shoulder is improving.
Ante, I hope that you haircut helps to keep you cooler
Joyce, I shred and then compost. Must admit that I don't get as much paperwork now as I used to. T'internet saves on recycling.
Can anybody hear Hazel shouting to be rescued from behind her new fence?

Chive - I am doing Physio and knee is a bit better at the moment but it does that now and again so I'll carry on. Yes, Chive compost all your shredded documents. Always done mine. I feel like a limp lettuce.

Hope everyone is okay in this heat. We shouldn't moan really, we'll be complaining about too much rain before long I suppose. Just missed the thunder storms which would have been great for the garden.

    So sad about your friend
Ladybird. It's such a cruel disease. My SIL has dementia and no longer speaks. She is not 70 yet and 4 years ago was driving and volunteering at a school hearing children read as she was a teacher. She gets up several times a night and gets dressed even once putting on wet clothes from the washing machine. My other brother takes her out once a week and a carer on another day but other than that my brother doesn't get any rest. We live almost 400 miles apart so can't help but I'm looking after her in my house in September while my brother goes for a well deserved break.

Evening - on the return ferry from IOW just now. It’s been a gorgeous day - wall to wall sunshine but temps in the low 20’s with a gentle sea breeze. Suffolk made it on to the 6pm news as one of the hottest places (mid 30’s) so glad I wasn’t there.

Had crab for lunch & crab for tea - just how 🐷gy can you be?

Visited some of the places in my parents’ honeymoon snaps which didn’t seem to have changed much in 65 years. We decided we rather like the IOW🙂

Ruby - good to hear OH’s op went well.

LB - sad about your friend but I’m sure somewhere deep inside she knew that somebody kind & caring was there.

Pauline - your work sounds unbearable in the current conditions. I’m with Joyce & Runners & cannot function in the heat. I didn’t sleep well either Rebecca.

Forgotten everything else and we’re fast approaching Lymington. Must be sailing club night - there are hundreds of dinghies on the water. Fortunately, they seem to be clearing a path for the ferry!
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

Hello Pottie and T'Bird. Pottie thats wonderful that you will be able to give your brother a break.
T'Bird - it sounds positively balmy down there and I'm glad you got your seafood. I am crying all over! This needs an explanation. In our family this was a sentence my youngest sister used when Dad was stationed in Bahrain and she had never seen sweat before. It was meltingly hot there hence her saying to Mum 'Look I'm crying all over' expression. She is now 56 and its always used in our family. I think for a 5 year old that was quite apt.
