Hose was on the ground for five hours (not on a water meter) letting the water  soak into the soil and moving the hose every so often. just did the south facing areas of the garden.
It seems to have got hotter as the day has gone on and my feet are burning.

Afternoon. We’ve moved round to Kent so we’ve lost the lovely sea breezes and it’s currently 38C outside - just too too much🥵 The M3 and M25 were ok today thank goodness. At least they were the direction we were driving. Lots of stationary traffic on the opposite carriageways.

Have just learned that my poor niece is currently doing a charity cycle ride from London to Paris - started yesterday, due to finish Saturday. Apparently they are all struggling with the heat. Hope she is ok.

We’re here until Monday for a mini music festival. Things are set to cool tomorrow so, hopefully, it will all be more enjoyable after tonight.

    Afternoon everyone.
I see that you are in the same sh..t like we here. It's 38 and I feel I'm in the oven.
Done much things in the house but I can't mention it, you know why. I know that Runny  put her feets in cold water but how rest of you handle with heat?

T`bird it's a very worthy cause but ride a bike in conditions like this is extremely heavy. When she finish she will be even more proud on her success.

    Evening all
    The view from the veranda.
    3 hours later

The mother and father of all thunderstorms! Lightning was very impressive.
T'Bird - respect to your niece. Hope she manages to finish without heatstroke or something equally as horrid.
You all seem to have had meltingly hot days and I hope we can all get some sleep tonight

Nice view LB🙂 We keep getting a few spits and spots of rain but nothing like the another night. OH cooked dinner and put a rather hot chilli in it. My head is crying all over....

Full of admiration for my niece. Of 200 starters only 20 riders are still participating - of whom she is one. she is the only one left of the group of 3 she started with. One gashed his knee so badly you could see the bone🤢 and the other went down with heatstroke.

Good girl Milly - keep you a-going🙂

Chive - it was absolutely amazing. The lightning was incredible but couldn't get a picture of that. Before the storm we were watching a young man water skiing. He was fantastic.
