Good morning all and yoo hoo Ladybird. hope everyone is well.
A bit overcast this morning but pleasant temperatures. It seems very hot in other parts of the country and predicted to be 41 degrees in Paris.
I'm relieved this morning as my son and family are back from holiday in Turkey. I've been looking after my granddaughter's horse. He developed an abscess just before they went so it involved dressing the hoof with a poultice  and bandage. Luckily I had a friend to help and he is almost better now. I've got a little retired Shetland so they've been in the field together.

Very cute horses, it’s a responsibility looking after pets for others isn’t it? Last year I cat sat for oldest daughter thought her tabby was lost worried for 8 days phoned vets and all the time she was just hiding whenever I went round! Naughty Duchess! To be fair she had only just been rehomed with my daughter and was very nervous.

Hello to Debs, Hazel and Pottie. Good to see you all. Debs don't you be pushing Maisie out of the way so that you can get into the water. Need to be a Sherlock where shy pussy cats are involved. Eaten food is a good clue that the little monkeys are around somewhere.
Pottie, will Robbie miss his big friend Merlyn when the family are home or are they usually together in the field? That picture is so nice. I wonder what they are whispering to one another. Whenever I see a Shetland pony I just want to hug it!
I can't remember when your new fence was going up Hazel but I hope it is soon for you.
I've just dug up - with some regret - my one and only blackcurrant bush. I managed to rescue 6 blackcurrants that the birdies missed. I wasn't sure whether to make some crumble, a pie or Cassis and as I was dithering they snuckered into my mouth and there they were - gone! I've now got quite a decent space in my border to fill up.
Joyce, as I was excavating the blackcurrant I was very disappointed to see how dry the soil was underneath the top inch (2.5cm). It did make removing the bush easier though. I've also removed a hundred gazillion crocosmia and day lilies from the same patch and am in now for rehydration. Why oh why did I not remember that it is silly pulling at nettles with your bare hands - I'll never learn!

Morning all.  Not long up as it was very stormy last night and I didn't sleep much.  It's still very blowy.

Pottiepam, lovely pic of the horse and pony.
Debs, enjoy play time with Maisie and hope it's not too tiring.
LB, I think sufficient rain has got down through my shrubs. That's one of the problems with close planting.

    Hi Debs,
You're right about looking after other ones pets. We had a chow years ago and he didn't like anyone except close family. When my brother came for a few days we went shopping leaving my brother at home. The chow disappeared and my brother was frantically looking round the lanes for him. When we arrived back home the chow nonchalantly walked down the stairs. He'd been hiding under the bed.
Robbie and Merlyn are together in the field at night, Ladybird.
