@Hostafan1 worth investigating. "Effective rainfall" ceases in about March. It's the winter when the reservoirs and ground waters are replenished.

Looking at the lake which is my garden, I would say rainfall above average.
How can you lie there and think of England

@punkdoc Out of interest, does your regional report chime with your own garden?

    Yes it does @Fire.

We have had the wettest February on record - since 1862. Over 400% of the long term average for Feb, in some areas. Monty's garden has been a lake since october,
with some of the highest rainfall in the country.

For those interested in the March rainfall data from England:

No surprise to see we've had about 240% higher than average in Feb. and "Exceptionally high" for the last 6 months
    Devon.

Well all be moaning about a hot dry spell in the summer.  It’s what we do.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

I never ever moan about heat, and I'm not on a water meter, lol

last 6 months " notably high" bordering "exceptionally high" and rainfall the 6th highest on record, yet our reservoir is only at 81% full. One wonders why it's not full.
I guess that the 19% spare capacity was left as a flood prevention measure? I bet they wish they'd left a lot more now though :#

If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
