Hi folks, damp day here, not raining but it's expected later.  Grandson is doing better, if he can get to 1.00 without needing an inhaler then he can come home.  Going to see mom later not sure what the situation is there, it's so difficult to speak to anyone.
    Hope everyone is OK.

@Yviestevie .... can you find out what time the doctor whose name is over your mum’s bed does his/her ward rounds and make a point of being there and explaining that you’d like a brief chat ... that’s what I used to do with Pa.

Good idea, but make time, when I was nursing Doctors were often late.

Rain has stopped today, but we had a good soak over the weekend.

I've just been hacking the shrubs on the kitchen terrace, they had got too big and looked awful with sunburnt leaves, spotted laurel, 2 golden spireas, 1 pink flowers and 1 white, purple sage and 2 hypericums. It's all a mess on the ground now but the sun has come round so I think I'll clear up tomorrow when it's in shade. A gardening lady is coming to help tomorrow morning, for a fee.

@Liriodendron does it usually affect you or are you on higher ground?

No, thanks @Yviestevie , we're fine - well above river level - though I had to clear debris from the gully behind the house to stop the kitchen floor flooding... leaves & twigs get washed off the hillside in heavy rain.  One of the roads into the town centre is shut & the trains are cancelled, but I've not heard of any major flooding of homes, thankfully!   :)
