    Morning all.
I was watering my polytunnel at first light at 4.30am .
Need to finish cutting the grass today and maybe hit the sun lounger whilst the sprinkler works its magic in the hosta tunnel.

It’s been an exceptional year for Hostas here, one of mine is now at least 6’ across and 4’ tall, never seen him like that before.  I think all the rain we had done a power of good.

I'm off to Belgium tomorrow or Friday and am tempted to look for a hosta Sum and Substance as it's one of my favourites but I suspect it would struggle here unless I confine it forever to a pot with serious snail defences.   We'll see.

It's very sunny here and would be baking hot except for a strong breeze.  SM raid done and I'm about to head out and plant Munstead Wood and maybe one or two more roses this pm.   We have chappies coming to increase insulation in our roof space to bring us up to new French norms.  A govt scheme means it will cost us 1€.   However, according to our solar panel and heat exchange system it's 55C up there so rather them than me poor things.

Not watching tennis.   Not watching football.   Looked in on Glastonbury a few times but they all sang off key or shouted so abandoned that very quickly.   Maybe I should be on the Curmudgeon thread except that I'm otherwise in a fine state at the mo.

Enjoy your day, whatever you're up to.

We may be having the insulation done too in France. Man is coming next week to look at the loft.

    SIL and Bil have gone.

We are having a lunchtime house warming garden party in our Norfolk cottage tomorrow. Thank God for Iceland, lots of party nibbles. Did the shopping this morning, tidied garden and put out chairs this afternoon. About to start preparing food.

Enjoy Belgium Obxx - hope it’s not too hot for getting out and about.

Had a great day at Hampton Court yesterday - lots of great gardens (Jo Thompson’s Springwatch one was my favourite- I love the way she uses plants 🌸) and a bustling plant marquee.  Mostly I contented myself with adding plants/nurseries to my wish list (always think plants bought at shows have been more stressed than those bought mail order .....although I suppose a dark journey through a sorting office can’t be much fun for them either).  Made an exception for a lovely tall penstemon called Connie’s pink 💕.  Had to raise my eyebrows a little at those who bought a trolley full of plants at 11am, and them trundled them round all day in the heat.  Some were looking pretty wilted and bedraggled by 6 when we left.

on a train to London Town now for an evening (work related) lecture.  Ho hum 🙄

Came home from tennis early as a bit under the weather ... thankfully there’s tennis to watch from the comfort of the sofa.
Also just booked a Monday repair visit for the boiler ... it keeps chuntering when it shouldn’t 🙄

Evening everyone. I have officially started my new job this week! Loads of ‘meetings’ booked already so I need to get a new diary just for work stuff I think! I know paperless is the modern way, but I like a diary.
    You guys have been busy.
Hampton Court sounds lovely- I like Jo Thompson’s style too.
Going to watch Djokovic now 🙂
