I have watched a film on TV this afternoon. Can't remember when I last did that. Having a very lazy day apart from a small amount of HW and feeding the horses and mucking out their field shelter.

OH is still in Norfolk, still being asked out for meals. He went to see Hamlet in Cambridge on Wednesday. But I did have a good day with his grandchildren on Wednesday.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

It's forecast here too.  A much more comfortable day - I even did some weeding this morning.   :)

@Fairygirl when I researched the Vendée, annual rainfall was stated as almost 100cms a year with December being wettest.   Average highs in July and August were high 20s and lowest in January at around 7C.  Perfick!

I decided that with judicious soil prep I could have a dry garden on the upper level, roses and clems near the house and good shrubberies and mixed perennials at the lower and back end.   Big terrace and pergola jobby in the middle for eating/drinking/entertaining in sun or shade.

Ha!   Still working on that plan but with seep hoses in the shrubs and veggie plot and maybe the bog bed I need for my gunnera can also house the rhubarb.

Slightly better weather here but still humid.  I've done some deadheading and will water later, can't rely on the forcast.

I'm losing the plot thought I had just posted on the 'Done any gardening today' thread.  My cold is better than yesterday but still feeling weary.  Not only is mum in the hospital but they have admitted Gabriel with breathing problems, really worrying as he's only 10 months old.  His mum was asthmatic as a child so I suppose he takes after her.  This humid weather wont help.

That's a worry Yvie.  Have a hug if it helps.

It has stopped raining so OH has dragged the dogs off their respective sofas and taken them for a walk.   A few more showers later, according to the radar, and then dry again for the next 10 days.  That's OK.  Possum's friend arrives on Thursday for a week's holiday so will want some sun.  Apparently she' so excited she's bought a whole new holiday wardrobe.

This weather’s tough for folk with ‘chests’, especially the very young and the older folk ... best wishes to you and yours @Yviestevie  ... positive thoughts winging their way to you.

At this moment @WonkyWomble is at the vets’ with the Flatface cat ... he’s been out fighting again and has some abscesses ... again 🙄 ... the vet doesn’t have a free slot but will fit them in between appointments 💕  ... must be the cakes she bakes for them 😊

Oh lawks.  Is he neutered or just bolshy.

I have an appointent for my knee.  October 4th.  Both docs on hols all thru August so technically a 5 week wait.   Bonzo only has to wait 10 days for his osteo vet visit.

Been watching the birds swooping for insects after the rain and have finally identified the residents in our ruin.   Swifts!!   How cool is that?

He’s neutered but it was done when he’d already established his modus vivendi. He was a stray living in Wonky’s shed but he was injured and she took him to the vet and .... we’ll, they adopted each other. She tries to keep him in most of the time with Harrie and she tries to supervise them both when they’re in the garden ... but boys will be boys 🙄
The vet said this evening to either keep him indoors or ‘restrain him’ when outside ... don’t  think he’d cooperate with that ...
