Gosh Lily P, I knew you'd been in hospital but hadn't realised it was Sepsis, you must have had a rotten time. I hope recovery is all on the way up from now on.
Our house warming party yesterday went very well, lovely sunny day.
We are going to OH's daughter & family in Eastbourne for the weekend then catching the ferry back to France.
I've just been to Tesco for a huge shop for my families in France, all the stuff it's hard to find there, golden syrup, Marmite, Oxo, Bovril, Lime marmalade, Branston pickle, sherry, ginger cake etc
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Our usual Leclerc at Luçon does golden syrup (sometimes) and lime marmalade and ginger jam which is cheaper in the local Carrefour in the village. Haven't seen Marmite for ages, make my own ginger cake and don't use Oxo. I shall be stocking up on dry sherry for cooking whilst in Belgium next week and the doggies' 2nd favourite chew stick which costs an arm and a leg here for some reason.
Have a good time in Eastbourne and a safe trip home @Busy-Lizzie
Maybe you should consider fine chicken wire for your strawberries @Lily Pilly - when you're better and strong enough.
I have planted out the last of the tomato plants and given them a good long drink with tomorite type feed. Ditto the dahlias which I planted out a few days ago. Sprinkler on now for the pot nursery while I think about what to do for dinner. Something with prawns and pasta.........

Hi all. Back from Colchester, had lovely trips to Beth Chatto's and Hyde hall, was a great success, and the weather was fabulous. Funny story from last night. We were sitting on the terrace outside the hotel, when 2 ladies, must have been mid to late 80's, approached Moira and said, "those shoes are beautiful, they are Laboutin's aren't they? " Moira proudly showed them off, and then one of the ladies said, " I don't suppose your husband fancies being a toy boy?"
I shall hopefully post pictures in the next day or so.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Evening all. Happy Friday. @Lily Pilly - you are doing great. Recovery is hard and feeling like you do is normal (although rubbish). Take it easy. Sent you a PM.

I’m sitting quietly on the lounge chair while Hubby is reclining in the recliner chair, fast asleep at 1pm. My thoughts go back to his tale from last Tuesday when he got back from the Oncology unit. He had been laying back with the drip doing it’s thing when he heard one of the nurses tell the other not spill it on herself because it burns. 😳😳 He immediately thought “and that’s what they are putting into my veins!!” Eek!
Liri, he doesn’t overdo it with the firewood. Just a bit at a time. Obviously not today. His taste buds have gone into overdrive again.
