I hate it when news stories say things like archeologists are 'racing against the clock' to study a site threatened by coastal erosion. Maybe racing against a calendar but you've probably got a few decades of breathing space before it falls into the sea.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
Iâm baffled why reporters ask for precision âTell me exactly what happened?â âWhere exactly were you standing?â but all they get in reply is vagueness.

Nope ... theyâre definitely racing against the clock around hereÂ
It's only racing against the clock if you ignore the decades of erosion leading up to your house hanging off the edge of a cliff though. We all ignore the odd problem in the house and hope it goes away but it's not like that's a dripping tap that needs a new washer.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
