and anyway 'up to 100%' - 1% is 'up to 100%' so it's a completely meaningless statement
"Up to" in TV adverts has always made me smile for that reason. It means absolutely nothing - which is true of the way many ads are very carefully worded.
what about cosmetic ads " 80% of women agree " and in very small print at the bottom " sample size 100 people" so basically 80 women agree. And, In a very non sexist way, women clearly fall for this crap and go buy it.
"New and improved". Less weight to make shipping more environmentally responsible and only for a slight cost increase! Same size box though because our consumers love the current packaging.
