I think they should widen the pavements so the drivers don't have to park with two wheels in the road.
They would need to reduce the width of the pavement to allow cars to park completely on the road without causing an obstruction. That is assuming you are using the word pavement in the UK way i.e. footpath or sidewalk, rather than the US version where pavement is the road. Strange lot these foreigners.

We have quite a few pavements like that round here, including the road where I grew up. Moving vehicles on the road, stationary vehicles on the pavement, and as long as the cars are parked sensibly there's plenty of room for buggies, wheelchairs etc on the rest of the pavement. But the area was laid out in the 20s I think, so more people-friendly than now.

Our road was resurfaced recently. I'm not sure why, there was only one major pothole. It looks very smooth now. Wish I still had my roller skates. The equipment they used was amazing to watch. It shook the house,though. We may have a few more cracks.Fortunately, lath and plaster is being held together by decades of wallpaper
