Your garden looks lovely and I don't know what to do with mine. I've bought a load of plants . Can you give me some advice?

    (You were robbed thinks I)

    Ok. Yes I'd love to
    This needs to go here.I

No. I'm building a patio right up to the fence.

    OK. What about here?
We like to sit there. What about here?

No your washing will get tangled up in it.

Is this evergreen and will flower all year without getting any bigger?

    No

I would like some privacy. If I plant this, will it be 10ft high by Tuesday?
    No

I want my grass right up to the fence. How do I mow it?

    You can't

    Disbelieving pout.

I wash everything @B3, daughter's dog, fox, cats, passing birds and the worst polluter of all - aircraft taking off from Heathrow. All produce washed thoroughly!

One long air flight chucks out as much pollution as one house does in a year, how many flights a day around the world? not even worth thinking about now, even less getting in a state over.

I'm sure that sleb who jetted over to join the green protests felt her presence was worth a little extra pollution.

I think it was Emma Thompson, she was flying home anyway so didn't make a special trip.

That's her latest excuse is it?  When interviewed at the time her response was "I plant a lot of trees"

Did she display her calloused hands and broken fingernails? Did she mention her preferred method of tree planting? What tree planting tips can she offer?

Dratted squirrels... on Thursday I mended 12 holes in my strawberry net, because some of the fruit was temptingly close to the side of the net, and squirrels had bitten through it to reach the strawberries.  I stretched the net sideways so there was a bigger gap between the net and the fruit.

Yesterday I found 2 enormous holes which I had to mend by weaving string across them...  unable to reach the strawberries with a couple of bites, the beasties had bitten holes in the net big enough so they could get right in and munch to their hearts' content.   :/
