Can't even see sky for merk today!! - Top off polytunnel again but veg ok on staging must have glue on pot bases!!! -Actually wind more gusty than galey (if that's a word!) Still not going out to rescue anything as supposed to get worse with us this afternoon and overnight. Lucky no Farmers Markets today!! I have not heard the terminology Snow Moon , really lovely - perhaps that is to indicate hard frosts? Gardening Magazine says sow tomatoes this w/e Definately a no no I think!! Watched one daft Boots the Bengal Cat trying to walk across lawn in a straight line -Tail, paws and whiskers blown sideways and whole cat blown over!!! Needless to say he chose to come back indoors!
First crocuses out yesterday -Oh no! -Water butt lids just flew off -will have to go and rescue them or they will wizz off over the field and down the stream. Bye!

Bio , I bet Bengal was shocked 🐈

Will need to go to allotment and see if everything is ok
Bungalow at end of close had there fencing blown down , not been out , started painting spare room
Our snow drops are out and looking good

Bengal tried to look 'nonchalent' (as in Dad'd Army!!) Hope allotment was OK. Friends in Uk seem to have all the neighbours garden landing in theirs (Trampolines/Pool Covers/Fruit Nets! Flower Pots) First garden Fair this w/e (with option to be 'under cover' email received this am) Luckily we had already booked indoors. No Farmer's Market on beach this am -Wonder why!! All plants present and correct so hoping the promised 'calm' this afternoon will mean that we can put Polytunnel cover back on. Watched Michael Portillo Train Journey through Java last night -GWRS you must have had a ball -looked superb.

O/H busy triple roping polytunnel cover down!! Fed up with this rain. So many plans on hold and yes -Obelixx you are right this weather previewed until late March. Surprised you had wind so far down as marked on Meteo France more Brittany and Seine Maritime. Glad Salon indoors this w/e but worried about number of visitors. Still only 40mins away, can always 'shut shop' and come home!! I have to admit to succumbing to buying already!!! BUT how could I resist beautiful white cactus dahlia tuber and 3 stunning scarlet Asian Lily Bulbs for 2Euros (about £1.80) -Dash off to super-U Obelixx Sale just started!

    Hi Everyone

I hate to give Lunar Calender for next few days as so difficult to get ANYTHING done! But -here goes (It is our 50th Anniversary of the night we met today so surely the sun should shine a little?!!!)

11-13th Feb - Moon descending in Virgo so Earth and Root Days. In all regions on ground not freshly manured plant shallots and Rose Garlic as opposed to 'white'. Harvest last of jerusalem Artichokes before they start re-shooting. Harvest last of Winter Leeks or lift and heel in somewhere sheltered to avoid root rot.
14-15th Feb -Flower Days. Plant bare rooted roses and prick out begonias sown 27-28th January. Divide Snowdrops (Mine are still flowering so shall leave them longer.
16/17th Feb - Moon descending in Scorpio so Air and Leaf Days. Prepare the soil for Asparagus bed. Plant out under fleece Lettuce and other salads sown 29-31 january. If it is mild enough (Pass on that one!!!) Trim Box Hedges.

I think that is enough optimistic suggestions. For those of you flooded or snowbound, I wish you all the best and hope that things improve soon, my heart goes out to you, it must be truly awful. -Shouts for help with rope from O/H so must close!
Happy Gardening (When we get out there!)

Mostly clear and sunny here today but wet again tomorrow.  No matter, I'm heading off to Nantes this pm to stay in a hotel as I have a picture-framing workshop to attend tomorrow and no way I can get there in time from here without being up before dawn.  It's bang in the centre near the cathedral so traffic will be a nightmare.

I have to go to Super U on Saturday to pick up a delivery from IKEA - nothing exciting, just bits to replace my broken laundry bin system and improve waste recycling.

No plant fairs or the like here before April.

Garden Fairs are much more sensible in April!! Good luck with Nantes always solid traffic but nice place. O/H is an Artist so always popping in and out of Art Material shops. Makes his own frames (Quite good at it too!!!) Just framed a series of photos of my Snow Bengals -They look stunning framed. Have a good time.
