I saw that one council charged £60 a year to take garden waste and that they made a profit of £400,000. They'll all be doing it!

We pay approx £40 pa for fortnightly collections of garden waste, but we’re not allowed to put soil or stones/rubble in the bin.

  • i'll probably keep the soil/earth, it might come in useful one day

They offered us the chance to pay to have garden waste removed, not worth that as we have places to dump what we can’t compost, elder, buttercups and dandelions, but it seems no one else took up the offer so the lorry drives around all day picking up from only one or two houses.

  • that doesn't seem right that you have you to pay to get it removed

Everything costs something ... there’s wages, lorries, fuel ... etc There’s very little that costs nothing in this world ... except a smile 😊

Well ... how else do they pay the council employees ... speaking as someone who used to work for a local authority I can assure you they didn’t make a profit and you don’t go into LA employment because of high salaries 😂 😉
