This is my second year on my allotment (150ftx30ft approx) and I have peas, French beans, cannellini beans, butternut squash, pumpkins, yellow bird squash, marrows, runner beans, red cabbages, cauliflower, sweetcorn, globe artichokes, celeriac, leeks, onions and cucumbers growing outside, also a few flowers in there too
I also have a greenhouse with tomatoes, celery, spring onions, beetroot, spinach and I also use it for my seedlings
And finally I have my polytunnel which currently has courgettes, cucumbers, chilli peppers, beet leaf/chard, lettuces, aubergines and strawberries in it
I post a lot of pics and do live plot tours on Instagram if you would like to follow me, its forkinallotment
@GWRS We are not allowed bonfires at all at this time of year & some on our committee would like to ban them completely as too many people are irresponsible & burn the wrong things when the wind is blowing all the smoke at the houses which border one side. Causes no end of problems.
Allotment Boy , the Allotments are surrounded by fields , some distance to houses so no problem , you are required to use a fire bin but that actually helps burn the stuff
I've found a novel way to get the plums. The tree isn't very big but I have short arms, so am using hubby's golf ball retriever, it is telescopic so can reach high up and has a little basket in which to enclose the fruit then a gentle tug and it's in the basket.😁 Easy.
