Hello everybody , very sunny 😎 day yesterday afternoon at allotment , picked Jostaburys , gooseberrys- red / green & red / black currant
O/H has made some more jam today
Went to plot , dug up shallots for drying & rest of early potatoes 🥔 , cleaned beds and covered them with membrane
Was  dead heading when rain started so went home , suns just come out and stopped raining

I am still only digging early spuds as I want them as the tops are still green & growing. Some are getting big tubers now, 1 spud each is plenty for dinner!

Another full day at allotment , lots of weeding and tidying up
Took my wooden Flag pole down ready for a new metal and new Flag
Picked some more courgettes and some Rhubard which is coming to the end of its season
    Lovely sunny 😎 day
  • Hi all.  Been on my plot since Jan this year.  Didn't expect to get a plot so soon so i wasn't ready for it.  Lots of rain early on delayed my getting stuck into digging and clearing a very neglected plot, took forever to dig out just 20% of the plot.  so I've only got potatoes, onions and shallots planted out but courgettes, cucumbers and tomatoes in pots are on the go. Been a hard slog and i hope it will get better.  Really enjoy the friendly site and fresh air though.

Terryregan3 , best to only do a section at a time , treat as a long term project
You need to enjoy and don’t forget lots of tea breaks 😉
