When my son went to Asia he had to have an injection against feline encephalitis caused by eating cats as it’s common over there apparently. People in Some countries eat cats and dogs
Edits can be undone and invalidated. Referencing is key. Which is more than you'll get from many outlets. I find it an invaluable technical resource. Sure there is variation of quality. But with many eyes all bugs are shallow.
Wayside, well just reading about it almost made me to puke. But honestly, could you imagine anyone eating cat? I mean what for? And if some lunatic or some group of mad people did that, still we cannot say that the whole country of people do eat cat. It would be wrong and unfair to majority of people to tell them, that they eat cat because they are from the country, when they don't. And whats written on internet is not always true, especially the Wiki and all these how to and review sites, I don't even go there.
Anyhow, it is grossly off topic for this thread as well.
I think you seem to think that clearing up horrible stinking mess of other peoples roaming cats from hard worked lawn and garden is trivial matter. But it could be utterly stressful problem for people who suffer from the damage, just like vandalism on your car or property. And if it costs money, time and mental anguish of others to deal with the problem, it can be serious anti social problem.
I am awaiting the replies about hogs, we have some visit.
@madpenguin We use a cheap plastic crate turned upside down, with a compact disk sized hole cut in it. The hedgehog can get in but cats (so far here) can't get in to steal the food. Think there is something somewhere on a hedge hog thread about these.
I have Houdini cats! They can get through hedgehog size holes easily, even getting inside feeding stations with all sorts of barriers and tunnels etc. if I make it cat proof the hogs the can't get in either!!

This was a perfectly innocuous thread when I left the house.
If very worried then put the devices pot in a plant pot so it's tall enough to detect a cat but not a hedgehog. Drag a pot plant on a string along the ground to check. Ask kids to confirm the beep of detection. The RSPB seem very sure that it's fine for hogs. They specifically state it on their website.
There's nothing wrong with Wikipedia articles if they give proper citations. I'm a long-standing WP editor and am (still), generally, very impressed. A system that shouldn't work in a thousand years, but it mostly does.
