I have been watching this Rose site since day 1 and thoroughly enjoyed looking at the pictures with some kind of envy.  There are some gorgeous roses out there and they make my meager contribution look someone bedraggled.  However at last I have a few to show. The first 3 pictures are all the same rose - Masquerade which receives comments every year - the flowers are so unusual in their changing colours. The last two pictures are National Trust Rose, and this is now well over 40 years old and never lets us down, growing in the driest of conditions.

Tess takes a couple of years or so before she can support her blooms, but it's worth the wait, isn't it?

I am loving your rose pics. Any suggestions for a small climbing rose to grow up and hide a 10ft metal pole. (Remnants of old car port). Will have to be in a pot, but I have got a huge one. Full sun. Would Tess of the durbervilles do well in a pot?

I love tess. Mine is only 2years old so the occasional oneor two of the  flowers do point downwards.
My tess is in a pot and happy not sure it'll get to 10ft in a pot though

Its a bit particular too. I had to move it a few times before we came to an agreement . I think youd be better with something else.
