A self -seeded rosa glauca . It's  probably  about  four  years  old.  I potted  it up a couple  of years  ago.

    In London. Keen but lazy.

I can! Sense of smell, or lack of it, is very particular it seems.

@Nollie has it always been that way - lack of smell?

I love the scents in roses, but I don't mind also if there isn't any... that wouldn't stop me buying a rose..

@B3   ..what a lovely seedling rose.. great foliage.. I wish I had room for one here..

Malvern Hills is definitely vigorous! Its doubled, maybe tripled, in size in a month.

Ghislaine looking very leafy now too. Quite a lot of buds.

I'm really pleasantly surprised with the roses as they're all first year and I wasn't expecting much this summer.

The only roses that haven't got buds on yet are Queen Elizabeth, The Generous Gardener and Mortimer Sackler - although Sackler was one of the last ones planted in January and also took the longest to start growing. I was concerned it might be dead for a while!

    It's growing strongly now though.

@Fire, no, but it has definitely declined with age. I used to hate having to walk through department stores because the smell in the perfume dept was so overpoweringly sickly but it doesn’t seem so bad now. I still can’t stand synthetic air fresheners. I have only grown roses the last couple of years, so I can’t really compare as I can’t remember if I used to be able to smell them or not!

Todays offerings, as you can see, its been raining, again.

Wild Rover - still being a colour chameleon:

LD Braithwaite - lurking behind Salvia Nemerosa Caradonna:

Lady Emma Hamilton - still sulking but maybe thinking about blooming:
