..keep it well watered, it should recover fairly quick this time of year..

@Jason-3   ..Jason, over time that's a 40 foot tree rose, and as it's a tree belonging to the Council then I imagine they would come along and chop it down... it probably wouldn't be lawful nor advisable..given its location next to a road...

I think these monster ramblers that look good for about 3 weeks, then rather a mess for the next 49... have been superseded nowadays... just my opinion...

Lovely roses again... @Nollie you must be getting some heat over there because that colour on Wild Rover is what I get sometimes in late July/August when it's hot.. it's usually purple in cooler areas... this is where roses can seem quite different in other climates..

I agree about RR. I eventually managed to get rid if him. Never regretted it.

    Albertine full of buds

Dublin Bay too high up  to get the scent. Fortunately I've managed to get it to flower lower down mostly by bending the branches which don't always snap so some are now  low enough to smell!

Its overcast and pretty warm just now @Marlorena, with the odd shower. No I don’t think Wild Rover will ever be purple for me, in some lights it looks more a really deep fuchsia. I don’t mind that so much as its rather pretty and I have lots of purple in that border anyway.

Any idea what the large pale green caterpillar might be munching the buds of Gertrude? Thinking about it is probably wasn’t a caterpillar at all, it had little horns, no stripes and was very fat. I lobbed it into the long grass before thinking to take a photo, but didn’t squish it in case it turns into something lovely...

No blooms yet on my new roses, but lots of buds on Ghislaine de Feligonde, Rhapsody in Blue and Amber Queen and what looks to be the start of some flower buds on Malvern Hills but they're only just forming.

The first bud I spotted (Amber Queen) and put a photo of a couple of weeks ago looks like it's starting to open-  the sepals are starting to peel.

Well what do I know, @Marlorena, Wild Rover has faded to more of a purple today, quite the chameleon:

..that's more like it @Nollie … first blooms are often not typical... in fact the first one on mine a week ago was nothing like it should be... I picked it off and threw it..

..great photo of the bud @Mr. Vine Eye

@B3 nice photos of your garden too.. you have a lot going on there..

By summer WR will probably be pink, knowing my luck!

That a rather pretty white @B3, better than I thought somehow. Not casting aspersions on your choice, I’ve planted one on a fence this year as its meant to do well in heat.
