Why were some of the trees listed @Fidgetbones? I know you mentioned a Tulip tree so presumably there were other choice ones? Typical of the councillors not to keep an appointment.
Exhausted Obxx here. Long day yesterday doing Possum's shopping while she attended class then a raid on IKEA at Mons on the way home - new pillows needed and the French ones are square so don't fit my pillowcases. Huge detours and delays because of 30kms of road works around that part of the motorway and then rain in parts of France which imposes reduced speed limits in the wet so I didn't get home till nearly 10pm.
Today was a trip to Nantes for a big patchwork exhibition with fabric and doings being sold alongside. I am now officially shattered and soon off to bed.
Fidget - that is appalling and illegal in so many ways so yes, do pursue it with anyone and everyone and on social media and local press. Have a huge hug.
LP - sorry you're not well but good to see your gorgeous dog out of her cage and looking so well.
Busy-Lizzie - OH and I don't fly anywhere if we can help it and we only have 1 daughter so it evens you out a bit tho we do sometimes drive long distances because the trains just don't do what we need. We also generate our own leccy and heat our water via solar panels and heat exchangers in mitigation for having to drive.
Sorry - too tired to remember all the rest but hugs as needed and "bonne merde" for all feeling crook and those starting exams. Seems early to me.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Thanks for "evening me out" Obelixx! We are off tomorrow for nearly 3 weeks. OH's daughter and family will come and stay on Bank Holiday weekend. We will also be going to the Malvern Spring Show with friends who I met on this Forum a few years ago.
Today I let the two old horses into their summer grazing, bit earlier than usual but I can't leave that to the housesitter. Horses were delighted. First I had to check and repair the electric fences, sunny when I started but I was soaked by rain before I'd finished. Raining now.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Hello folks we’re home and nearly sorted out, but very tired due to staying up into the wee small hours putting the world to rights with old friends, extended family etc. Feeling encouraged by 17 yr old niece’s perceptive attitude to world problems 😊
Also managed to fit in a visit to Nut and a wander around her lovely garden, amidst showers of blossom and little blue butterflies. There were a few spots of rain on the journey back, but nothing of any use.TheFens were dry and dusty ... farmers were planting veg in clouds of dust ... shouldn’t be like that in April ☹️
We saw our first swallow as we left Nut’s garden 😀
Now I need to catch up on my 😴

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Im in for a frustrating day I think. Got up to a bright sunny morning, loaded the washing machine, made breakfast, then the clouds rolled over. I suspect I’ll be hanging it out while dodging rain drops. 😡
Sounds like a full on day Obxx 🤯. But Possum will be settled in nicely 👍🏻 Glad you had a good break Dove, and bon voyage Lizzie ✈️. Still smiling at the thought of Lizzie27 stuck in a permanently reclined chair 😳
Went to another Rosy Hardy talk last night - she’s a great speaker. My plant wish list grew several feet in the course of an evening 😊
@Lily Pilly.....did I see on another thread you are coming to Chelsea? Which day will you be there? Anyone else making the trip this year?
Good morning, yes Chicky, a Christmas present from my daughter, never been before looking forward to it. As it was a gift I knew nothing about it and daughter didn’t know I am an RHS member so we going on Friday.

Good morning all ☕️ hope everyone’s had a good nights sleep ... can’t see any blue sky but the morning looks bright ... no sign of the much needed rain yet ... When we got home yesterday we couldn’t see any tadpoles in the pond ... but there were several newts hanging around in the pondweed looking smug ... I hope there’s a few tadpoles in hiding somewhere ...
