Another gorgeous morning here. ☀️ However I was relieved to hear the mention of rain in the forecast for later in the week ... one of our two water butts is empty and we need rainwater for the blueberry bushes which are just coming into flower ...
Todays jobs include packing, checking the car and giving the house a quick tidy ... then when OH finished work we’ll head for Lincs to see MIL, SIL and niece ... they all have birthdays this week!
NDN will be left in charge of hedgehog feeding. Baby toms will be ok in the studio for 48 hours. Tadpoles, frogs, newts and birds will have to manage without us for 48 hours 🤣
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Morning all 😀. Nice to have a Monday that doesn’t start with an alarm clock ⏰
Today looks fine, but not scorchio like yesterday. Perfect for getting my windowsill seedlings pricked out and into the greenhouse. Looks like most of my half hardy rudbeckias have made it through the winter this year, which should mean an earlier show of yellow than normal.....plus some surplus plants from this year’s sowing. I’m sure I’ll find room for them somewhere 🤔🌱🌻
Hi all. Another lovely day, but no sleep again, so I think I shall be reclining in the garden, rather than working in it. Hope I am wrong, but I get the feeling that the world is at some sort of tipping point, which we might not recover from.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
I didn’t get out for a drive Chicky. I sat on the back verandah and worked on my cross-stitch. Hubby had a meeting with his Fire Captain. I must say it was nice outside with the sun on my legs.
Checked the rain gauge to see what rain we’d received overnight - got 1 whole mm. That’s the first rain this month. 😡
Punkdoc, I feel a little the same as you, and every time I turn the tv on, they update the number of dead in Sri Lanka. 🥺 not happy.

Think we’ve still got time to act Pdoc....but we have to do something NOW. One of the reasons the “B” word frustrates me so much, is that we have spent 3 years thinking about nothing else......and its only an organisational thing. Like fiddling with the deck chairs on the Titanic 🙁. We should be leading the way......ditching coal power is a good start, ramp up renewables even more, show the world that 100% renewables is eminently possible (the chinese might follow, they might like to breathe in their cities again 😷), electrify transport and heating, and change our diets so that meat is a treat, not a staple. That’s ALL do-able.......but needs some leadership, which is currently woefully lacking.

I saw on the news last night that one of the bombs in Sri Lanka was in Negombo, a town where we stayed on our trip around Sri Lanka.

Oops, I seem to have gone on a rant 🤭
