I would think she is thanking her lucky stars, Hostafan.  I was in Manchester exactly a week before the bomb went off near M&S. 7 days later, same time, same place, I would have been blown up.  Why is there so much hate in the world?

Such a shame isn't it. She loved Sri Lanka ( as we did when we were there ) and she loved the people and feels deeply sorry for them.

    Morning all.

FB, you must be fuming and very upset about the trees. I hope the council take action, but it's so depressing. And the workmen laughing just rubs salt into the wounds.

Quite dull here but it's due to be sunny again today, before the cooler weather sets in tomorrow. We're also due some rain, but probably not much - we could do with more, the ground is surprisingly dry.

Bow's back to school today (GCSEs start tomorrow), Trill has one more day's holiday. We all had a lovely family meal out yesterday. I'd made mini simnel cakes instead of Easter eggs for everyone.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Good morning misty here but the promise of it clearing

As I have been a bit under the weather recently I have not been able to do anything in the garden.  First year the greenhouse is empty and the walled garden is a disgrace.
O h has arranged for gardener to come this afternoon. I am so relieved   You all sound so busy and active and I should be too but I just fall over !

I am sorry I don’t  have the energy to mention everyone but I have been reading back.  I agree that the worlds present activities are deeply concerning. Wish everyone poorly or with troubles better days.

On a good note Talla is doing very well. She gives up very quickly with her puzzles tho!

    Morning all.

    Talla is lovely.

Rain coming tonight, washing being done. My hands are aching after weeding yesterday, swollen fingers. Had trouble changing the sheets.

Just been reading the thread about climate change. Now I feel bad. I have 4 children and 13 lovely grandchildren, all bright and enthusiastic. My children are in good jobs and I'm proud of them all. I met a lovely man years after I was widowed, wants to live in England, his family etc, I live in France where my family live. We travel by plane quite a lot. Apparently I am harming the planet. I haven't posted there so no one has actually said it about me, but the message is there. But I think America North and South and China are doing a lot more harm than Europe. The earth has always gone in cycles, hot and cold, could the sun have anything to do with it?

    Afternoon.
Glad Talla is doing well - what a sweetie!
Busy - you can’t feel bad for living your life. The plane would still go, whether you are on it or not.
Just done a quick hedge tidy as it was growing up through my large Fig, a Rhododendron and Snowberry. I don’t usually trim hedges at this time of year, in case of bird nests, but it’s plenty dense enough to allow for birds and will benefit the other shrubs. Bit hot now and I don’t fancy faffing with sun cream today, so I’m indoors doing some other bits now.
    Have a good day all.

I got marooned in my recliner earlier - we've had a surprise power cut, most of Bath seemed to be out. Fortunately just before it got really dark and didn't last long.

Hi everyone just read back my you have all been busy. Survived the "party" I think auntie was pleased, (thanks Dove) she is not one to show her emotions much but it was a good excuse to get the wider family together for a good reason & not the usual.
Finally got back to Allotments today my my it's so dry! The Asparagus has started - Yey!
I love this time of year full of promise of treats to come strawbs are in flower already too.
@fidgetbones such destruction is horrific I hope you get some redress not least for the damage to your garden.
@Pat E  hope all goes well with your hubby, extra herbs & spices may help  to keep his taste buds alive, thankfully I never needed Chemo, surgery & radio therapy was quite enough for me.

Morning all. Sunny here with a bit of fog until 10am. Warm days and cool nights.😏

Allotment boy, thanks for the suggestion about tastes for Hubby. We’re trying all sorts of things, but the only taste that seems to be fairly true is salt. I’ve been having a quiet giggle that his beloved coffee is off. He still manages to get a few cups down though, I notice.😉

Ive bought the doings for more pea and ham soup which he enjoyed last week. Will make that tomorrow which is yet another public holiday (ANZAC day).

    Off to town shortly.👋
