I received three new roses today from C & K Jones - Midnight Blue, Ebb Tide and Minerva. They are all intended for the front garden, where I have an absolutely beautiful Hydrangea - it starts dark blue with a purple tint and fades off through purple to more reddish purple. I am looking forward to how it will look with these roses. And that's it for this season, no more space for roses. Although I guess I will find some space next year
I too recieved my bare root ‘Summer Song’ rose from C&K jones and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of plant supplied. Good size root structure and chunky canes + was reasonably priced.
Its resting in the water bucket now before i find some space for it in my borders. Somehow i ve to convince myself to stop buying more roses....
@Ffoxglove I have no idea, unfortunately, I haven't planted it and it doesn't have a label. Maybe someone can tell from the photo or possibly recommend something similar (end of July, acidic soil)?
@Daniel Rutherford I've read it should be very fragrant with a strong sweet fragrance. Really looking forward to it.
I’m not a fan of hydrangeas normally, but that one is stunning Edelka, love the purple roses you chose too. Sadly most purple or dark roses tend to be more plummy pink here, combination of heat and very alkaline soil, probably...
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
